I’m looking for someone caring and dependable to help out with my dad, who is 87 years old. He’s a widower (my mom passed in July 2023) and honestly one of the friendliest, most patient people you’ll ever meet. He loves chatting and being around others. Dad has normal pressure hydrocephalus, walking is no longer an option so dad splits his time between his favorite living room chair where he reads, watches T.V and enjoys his non scheduled naps, and his wheelchair where he'll literally run laps around the main floor of the house with. Everything dad needs is on the main floor so obstacles such as stairs are not in the way. We live in Gatineau and are bilingual, but ideally we’d like someone who speaks English, since Dad feels most comfortable communicating in that language. What we need is someone who can: Be patient and supportive. Help with day-to-day activities and getting around Offer companionship and encouragement along the way Dependable and reliable, this is important as I need to know that you'll be here on time and that dad is well taken care of while I'm away at the office. My husband is bedridden and receiving palliative care at home as he is in the end stages of pulmonary fibrosis. We are looking for an individuals who would work à night shift from 11 pm to 7 am. Duties include monitoring his oxyge tube to ensure it stays in place, changing his incontinence brief as needed, and administering pre-loaded oral medication on his request. My husband is good-natured and has a great sense of humour. Happy to split the work into two part/timr jobs.

I am on a search for an experienced and dedicated individual who can join our team in a full-time Senior/Health Care position, with a preferred start date of 04.08.2025. This position will require you to look after and care for a person with special health needs including an amputee, and one who might be dealing with issues of malnutrition. The workweek for this role typically runs from Monday to Friday during morning hours. Your duties will encompass a variety of tasks to assist with the daily routine and activities. These responsibilities will include tasks like grocery shopping to maintain a healthy diet, help with walking and mobility issues, accompanying to and from various appointments. Besides, you will also be expected to fulfilling some basic housekeeping tasks such as laundry, and help perform a range of motion exercises. The position is a Live-Out role, entailing approximately 40 to 50 hours of work per week. Considering the nature of assistance required, candidates with a valid driver's license are preferred as the family can provide a car for use on the job. To perform effectively in this role, candidates are required to have a strong physical constitution and ability to handle the physical demand of the tasks involved, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience working with people in similar health situations would also be very much appreciated.
