We are looking for a caregiver for our parents who are 98 and 89 of Chinese ethnicity. Both are still living at home. Both have severe hearing impairments, mobility issues, and cognitive issues. Both need the use of a walker to move around. We are looking for a caregiver who can assist them with bathing, dressing, toiletry, food preparation, cooking, cleaning, moving around and supervise their daily functioning to ensure their safety at home. I am into clean and natural ways of living; I eat organically grown foods and fish, I meditate, I love to read, and continue to learn. I am seeking a weekend (48 hour) live-in companion and caretaker that is compassionate, understanding, with similar interests, and is on the same wavelength as I am. We are looking for overnight help for my grandma. She is 92 years old. She has had several strokes and has mobility issues. She can walk, but needs assistance in doing so. We require someone to support her for overnight care, as she wakes up several times throughout the night. Sometimes needing to go to the washroom, or for water. We require assistance so that she doesn't get out of bed on her own/ have any falls. She also calls out loudly throughout the night which wakes up the members of the household who have to work in the morning/ day. Ideally, you would be able to remind her that it is night time and help her go back to sleep or attend to any issue that she has. She currently sleeps on a daybed in the living room on the main floor. The bathroom is down a set of stairs with 6 steps. Ideally, your shift would be from 8PM-8AM to help with putting her to bed, and getting her up in the morning. This may require you giving her some of her medication and a meal that would be prepared in advance (for dinner), but will require you to make a light breakfast (tea, toast, fruit, etc). She speaks English and has some hearing issues.
