My name is Lorraine, a passionate culinary professional, currently living in Ottawa. Originating from Halifax, Nova Scotia, I've relocated to live a new chapter of life after successfully recovering from a car accident with my partner. As a resilient individual, I found solace and therapy in cooking and baking during my recovery phase. Fuelled by passion and experience of 4 years in various restaurants, I dream of owning my own restaurant one day. My last job was at a popular cafe, and I absolutely loved the buzz of creating delicious meals for a large crowd.
I am available to start working immediately, and my schedule is flexible across all seven days of the week, covering mornings, afternoons, and evenings. While I can't relocate due to personal constraints, I am willing to travel and have a driver's license, although I do not own a vehicle suitable for job usage.
From catering for large events to being a personal cook or a dietary chef at a school, I am open to all kinds of culinary roles. I look forward to working in an environment where I can manage key culinary responsibilities such as dishwashing, procuring products, pastry preparation, kitchen maintenance, children's meal preparation, table setting and serving.
With a strong background in preparing Canadian, Italian, Middle Eastern, Japanese, and several other varied cuisines including vegetarian and vegan, I am confident in delivering a diverse plate. I pride myself on my knowledge of hygienic standards, modern cooking technology, confectionary industry experience, managing employees, professional plating, and barbecuing. In particular, my experience in catering will undoubtedly be an asset to any large-scale culinary operations.
I hold a Food Handler’s Certification and am willing to undergo a police check if required. As a Canadian citizen, I am well-versed in English and French, adding to my multicultural culinary capabilities. Looking forward to bringing a dollop of passion, a pinch of creativity, and a whole lot of flavor to your kitchen.
Cooking and baking have always been a passion of mine. I have worked for a variety of restaurants/companies. The majority of my experience is working in small businesses which has made me an excellent multitasker. If you like crepes, you will love mine! I worked at a crepe cafe where I also learnt my barista skills. I have catered a lot of large events but also enjoy a nice home style, comfort food. Babysitting a variety of young children, I can also very easily make kid friendly meals! I am always trying new recipes and am up for any challenge!
