●Can prepare simple, traditional meals
●Understands diabetic-friendly cooking (moderate carbs, low sugar)
●Is comfortable following a family recipe book (no fusion)
●Is open to introducing suitable new dishes
Meal Expectations
Dinner meals and snacks typically include:
●Protein (chicken, fish, shrimp, or vegetarian)
●Rice-based dishes (no couscous or quinoa)
●Vegetables (Indian-style or simple preparations)
●Salad or light sides
●Snacks / light items (e.g., fritters, baked goods, light bites)
●Fresh fruit (salad) prepared weekly
Examples:
●Chicken curry, tikka, baked chicken
●Fish (salmon, haddock, trout — no tilapia)
●Dal, vegetable dishes, shrimp curry
●Biryani, tamarind rice, fried rice
●Chutneys (tomato, mint)
Snacks like pakoras, samosas, or similar
Occasional items like idli, sambar
Important Notes
●One parent is lactose-free
●Both are type 2 diabetic
●Schedule & Setup
Cooking 1–2 times per week
Meals prepared for 2–3 days at a time
Groceries provided (you can share a list)
