I'm currently seeking a compassionate caregiver to provide company and care for my father who's living with Parkinson's in an assisted living facility in Scarborough. Due to his regular falls, we feel the need to have an additional caregiver by his side. This is a temporary position, until he is placed in a long-term care home; however, it might be extended once he moves.
The ideal candidate would possess a genuine spirit of kindness and a desire to provide comfort to my father. The work schedule includes mornings, mid-day, and evenings from Monday up to Sunday, approximately 20 - 30 hours per week. This job is of a live-out nature and does not require a driver's license.
Responsibilities include sitting with my father, keeping his living area tidy, doing laundry, washing dishes, and assisting him to use the bathroom. He would also need assistance transferring from his bed to his chair, accompanying him outdoors in his wheelchair, and to in-building activities. It should be mentioned that my father also spends a significant time resting, so he won't always be active.
Your work will provide a great deal of reassurance to our family, knowing that while we're unable to be with him, he's in safe and caring hands. We are willing to pay an hourly rate of $20 and are interested to hear if you offer a daily rate for around an 8-hour day.
If you have experience with Parkinson's, or an interest in Parkinson's care, and you are able to commence work immediately, please reach out to me via email at .
Thank you in advance for considering this position.
Sincerely,
Jennifer
