My name is Erin and I’m an outgoing 18 year-old female who uses a power wheelchair and I’m looking for a female caregiver. I have a very rare medical diagnosis that is “similar” to Cerebral Palsy but isn’t really CP. I guess you can say that I’m “one in a million!” I live with my mom, dad, younger sister and a very calm dog and cat. My family would love to find someone who can take good care of me and become almost like a member of the family! My ideal caregiver is someone who is caring, compassionate, trustworthy, likes to do arts and crafts and is easy-going. We have a developed bedroom and bathroom in the basement for your personal use if you need to stay overnight or prefer to be employed as a live-in caregiver. I need assistance in the mornings from 7:30 AM to 10 AM to help me get out of bed, fed and dressed and driven to my PDD program (you can use my wheelchair van to drive me) that I attend from Monday to Friday. I also need help in the afternoons/evenings from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM to help me eat dinner, get a shower, and put to bed. My parents would love to travel more often so the ideal caregiver should have a flexible schedule and be willing to take care of me on weekends and overnight when my parents are gone. It would also be great if you could travel with me and my family when we all go on vacation! Because I’m in a wheelchair, I’ll need help with personal care, feeding, getting dressed and doing my hair up in a pony tail (I like different styles!) and putting on some blush and eye shadow (yep, I like make up!). I’ll need to be lifted out of bed with transfers to/from my wheelchair. I have a mechanical lift to help with this but I’ll need you to be fairly physically strong to help me. In the afternoons, I come home from my program and I like to relax for a bit and have a snack. It would be great if you can help me get settled in and do some stretching/light physio (we can show you) and maybe some crafts (I really like art!) and then help me eat dinner and then give me a shower and help me get ready for bed. Here’s the hours I’m looking for help. However, if you have a flexible schedule, and are willing to help when my parents travel, that would be great! Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM - 10 AM Monday-Friday: 4:00 PM - 9:30 PM Total hours would be: 40 hrs/week. Hourly rate: $21 I’d love to learn more about you and see if this would be a good fit for both of us. If you’re interested, please send me an email/text me and we can plan a time to chat!
