I am a middle-aged woman from the Caribbean. I really enjoy working with the elderly, and I have been blessed with a special gift for taking care of them and helping them be very cooperative with me. I understand how to be gentle and coax them into doing what they need to do. I am patient with them, and I love chatting and joking with them, which allows them to feel loved. I also know how to treat them with respect while helping them in order for them to maintain their dignity. I have experience taking them to appointments, as I did this for my mom for over 20 years. She had dementia, hypertension, and diabetes. I have also helped friends' parents when they were not able to or did not understand how to take care of the elderly. I can give you time to focus on everything else you need to do, with peace of mind. I have taken care of my parents - my mom for maybe 15 years and my dad for about 4 years. I've also helped with my friend's parents for about 3 years. Currently, I am helping my friend's father. All of this caregiving is done on a volunteer basis.

In addition to receptionist duties, I regularly assist with resident care and support. I help residents with medical and non-medical needs such as mobility assistance, escorting them to meals or activities, providing comfort, and responding to call bells when staff are busy. I'm Elena, I'm 44 years old, and I live in Decarie Montreal very near Villa Maria metro station. I have an open work permit here in Montreal, Quebec. My kids are already here, two students in high school, and my eldest is working with her father in one company. My hobbies are cooking, singing, and dancing, and I love to communicate. We always attend church every Sunday with my family. I love to help others find a job. I have experience taking care of an 81-year-old elderly woman who was diagnosed with a spinal cord problem. She is not able to walk and move a lot. I give her the medicine prescribed by her doctor, help her clean herself in the bathroom every time she needs to go to the bathroom, cook and prepare her food, do her laundry, and spend the whole day talking to her. She loves having a companion to talk to, and she tells me everything. We share our happiness, and I feel like she is my mother. After spending the whole day with her, I go back home. Sometimes, if she has no one to keep her company at night, I stay and sleep over. I also take care of a special 9-year-old child who has ADHD. She can't talk but she can walk. I shower her, prepare her food and clothes before school, pick her up from school, and cook for her. She enjoys walking and eating.
