This is a varied position combining Monday–Friday childcare responsibilities with housekeeping, meal preparation, household organization, errands and occasional personal-assistant duties. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is comfortable working independently and would enjoy becoming a trusted and dependable part of a busy household.
Job Description:
As a live-in childcare and household assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Childcare: Provide reliable and attentive childcare Monday through Friday, including supervision, play and age-appropriate activities, preparing meals and snacks, assisting with the child's daily routine, and maintaining a safe, caring and comfortable environment.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain the interior of the home and immediate exterior areas, including regular cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas, vacuuming, mopping, dusting and general organization.
Kitchen and Household Organization: Keep the kitchen clean and organized, including dishes, counters, floors, pantry, appliances and cupboards. Maintain household supplies and periodically organize the refrigerator, pantry and other storage areas.
Laundry and Linens: Complete household laundry and ironing as required, make beds, change linens and assist with seasonal organization of clothing and closets.
Meal Preparation: Prepare meals as needed, assist with grocery shopping and pantry management, and occasionally assist with cooking, serving or hosting for family occasions and guests.
Errands and Personal Assistance: Complete grocery shopping, household errands, occasional pickups/drop-offs and other reasonable personal or household tasks as required.
Administrative Support: Assist occasionally with scheduling, filing, appointments, household paperwork and coordinating household services.
Household Management: Help keep the household organized and running smoothly. This may include receiving guests, house sitting, coordinating or providing access to tradespeople and contractors, maintaining household inventories and assisting with occasional household projects.
This is intentionally a varied household role, so responsibilities may change somewhat from day to day. We value reliability, initiative, attention to detail and quality of work more than a rigid task-by-task approach.
Compensation:
We offer a generous overall compensation package combining a monthly cash allowance with substantial live-in benefits estimated at $4500 including accommodations and cash allowance.

Hours:
The position includes regular childcare responsibilities Monday through Friday, together with household responsibilities throughout the week.
The schedule may include some morning or evening coverage depending on household needs. We also understand the importance of personal time and offer reasonable flexibility in how household responsibilities are completed.
We are more interested in finding someone who is dependable, efficient and takes ownership of their responsibilities than imposing an unnecessarily rigid schedule.

You will be living in a comfortable, high-end private home in a desirable Calgary neighbourhood close to universities, schools and transit.
The successful applicant will have their own private living space and private bathroom, providing privacy and independence while enjoying the convenience and financial benefits of a live-in arrangement.
The home offers a number of amenities, including a fully equipped gym, sauna and cinema room, as well as private parking. Food, household meals, utilities and high-speed internet are all included.
A family vehicle can also be provided for use in connection with the position when needed.
Requirements:
Prior experience in childcare, nannying, housekeeping, cleaning, household management or household-assistant work is preferred.
