We are in search of a compassionate and experienced Live-In caregiver to start as soon as possible. This full-time position involves primarily caring for a couple living with Dementia. The individuals function well but need assistance with small tasks, meals, dressing, organizing, and emotions—one more than the other. The caregiver will be needed for five days a week with two days off. Responsibilities include light personal care tasks, such as cooking meals, selecting clothing, etc. The role also involves light household chores like laundry, vacuuming and putting things away, as well as managing grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, and running errands. Additionally, the caregiver will plan visits, outings, and trips to see neighbours, friends, or family enrich their daily lives. A driver’s license is not necessary but would be helpful. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with dementia and senior care. This is not an easy disease, and we seek a patient, understanding, and empathetic individual who can offer effective and compassionate support. This is a complex situation. There are heightened emotions at times, as is common with Dementia, and it's important the caregiver be emotionally strong, able to intervene at times when there is confusion and conflict, yet caring and tender to support the patient through the situation.
