My name is Akane, and I am originally from Japan. I have several years of experience working with children aged 2–10 through volunteering at international schools and teaching English in Japan. I enjoy creating a warm, engaging environment where children feel safe, supported, and happy to learn. I am currently studying in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma program at Douglas College. Through my program, I have completed over 400 hours of practicum experience in childcare centers in Vancouver, where I planned and facilitated various activities for young children. I have experience working in both play-based preschool environments and Montessori-inspired classrooms, supporting children’s learning through exploration, creativity, and hands-on activities. I will receive my ECE license in May, and I am also planning to continue my education to obtain a Special Needs ECE certificate in the future. I am willing to plan and provide engaging activities that support children’s learning, creativity, and development. I enjoy planning fun activities such as crafts, dancing, games, reading, and outdoor play while supporting children’s emotional and social development. I have been living in the Vancouver / New Westminster area for four years and speak Japanese, English, and beginner Spanish, and Korean. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, jogging, Zumba, making coffee, reading, and dancing to Taylor Swift songs. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you. I am currently a student in the Early Childhood Education program at Douglas College and am completing my second practicum to pursue my Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification, which I plan to obtain in April. Through my practicum experience, I have gained confidence in planning and implementing hands-on, play-based activities such as art, science experiments, literacy, and dramatic play. I have experience working in both play-based and Montessori-inspired environments, supporting children’s independence, curiosity, and overall development. When I was in high school, I volunteered as a teacher’s assistant at a Japanese international preschool every summer for three years. I worked with 15–20 children and supported the lead teacher in daily classroom routines. I engaged children in craft activities, read books aloud, sang alphabet songs, guided coloring activities, took them to the park, assisted with meals, and supervised nap time. After graduating from high school, I worked as an English teacher in Japan, teaching children aged 2 to 10, with a primary focus on children aged 2 to 7. I planned and led daily and seasonal crafts, organized English vocabulary games, and incorporated hands-on learning through origami and Lego projects. I taught the English alphabet using themes such as animals and fruits, read books with the children, and took them on park outings. My main English class had a maximum of six children, which helped me develop strong small-group management skills and provide individualized support. I will be available from March to August, mainly from Monday to Saturday. I do not have a driver's license. After I graduated high school in Japan, I took hospitality major diploma for 2 years in Vancouver, Canada.I am Douglas College student who take Early Childhood Education.

My name is Dherlyn and I'm 25 yrs old with 13 years of experience working with children. I am available to work as a part-time Nanny/Housekeeper in Burnaby. I can start immediately and am looking for a Live-Out position. I am a non-smoker with a driver's license and the ability to swim well. I am comfortable working with up to three children, including those with disabilities. My duties can include cooking, light housekeeping, running errands, and helping with homework. I have experience with children of all ages, from newborns to over 10 years old. I am a Filipino citizen who speaks Tagalog and has a willingness to obtain a police check. I am looking forward to the opportunity to provide quality care and support to your family. My name is Dherlyn. I am Filipino. I can’t change my birthdate but I am 24 years old, LOL. To start off, I've never really had a paying job related to being a nanny, but I have all the experience I need to take care of a child and give you the extra hands you need. A little bit about me: I came to Canada when I was 14 and my mom was pregnant at the time. She gave birth to my brother, and I have been tending to him, as well as my mom, since day 1 up until now. I've always watched and supported my brother as he has grown; he is now 11 years old. Fun fact: His first word was "ate, " which means older sister in Tagalog, not mom. 😆 Other than that, I have always been surrounded by kids. We have lots of relatives and family friends here in BC, and almost every weekend we have gatherings where I watch over them. There are usually at least 5 kids, although not as many anymore because they're all growing up. I would still prepare games for them to play. I also have a newborn nephew who is just 2 months old, and I help my cousin every time they come over so she can take a breather, even for a bit. In terms of my occupation background, I used to be a Fire Extinguisher Technician but currently in school now for Practical Nursing. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

I’m Jade. I really believe kids learn best when they’re given the time and space to explore – when they can play, get a little messy, ask questions, and just be curious about the world around them. A lot of that, to me, comes from being connected to nature and noticing the small things. I’ve been working in childcare for about two years now, mostly in after-school programs and summer camps. I’ve spent a lot of time with kids aged 4 to 8, and that’s the age group I feel most connected to. There’s something really special about how they’re learning to understand their feelings, their friendships, and themselves. I enjoy being there to support that, and to help create a space where they feel safe and cared for. I always try to make sure kids feel seen – not just looked after, but really supported, especially when it comes to their emotional well-being. When I’m not working, I like keeping things simple. I read, go on hikes, and take walks around different neighbourhoods just to get out and notice things. I also swim, crochet, and lately I’ve been trying to cook more. I’m still learning, but I’ve been enjoying it a lot. It’s a pretty simple life, but it feels good to me. Over the past couple of years, I’ve found myself growing into childcare in a really natural way. I’ve worked in after-school care, school programs, and summer camps, and more recently as a school-age educator. A lot of my days are spent planning simple, meaningful activities – things that help kids move, create, think, and connect with each other. I like keeping things flexible, following their interests when I can, and making space for those small moments where they get really engaged in something. Safety is always at the center of what I do, but beyond that, I try to create an environment that feels calm, welcoming, and steady. Whether it’s walking kids to and from school, helping them through their routines, or just being there during play, I aim to be someone they can rely on. I’ve also had the chance to work in a preschool setting and in a forest school, which both shaped how I see learning. In those spaces, I leaned more into observation – watching how children interact with their environment, how they express themselves, and how much they can do when given the right support. Especially outdoors, where learning feels more open-ended and a little more free. Across all of these roles, one thing that’s stayed consistent is how important relationships are. With the children, of course, but also with families and the team. I try to communicate openly, be present, and contribute to a space where everyone feels included and supported. It’s work that asks a lot of you, but in a quiet, steady way. And it’s work I keep coming back to. Early Childhood Educator Assistant Responsible Adult Certificate
