I’m Bonnie, and I love creating menus and preparing meals for families. Food should be nourishing and delicious - but it should also be affordable and comforting. I value fresh local ingredients where possible, vegetable-forward dishes, and curiosity about other cuisines and ways to eat ingredients. I grew up traveling, as my father was a commercial pilot. This exposed me to a lot of eating styles around the world. My mother also had a wedding cake business, so I learned how to prepare treats. I worked at a women writer’s retreat for a few years where we practiced Radical Hospitality, feeding women as they create. And I now live in the Beaches area of Toronto with my partner and two cats. I’m comfortable working in others’ kitchens, and you can expect me to ask a lot of questions to understand what your family enjoys and how they relate to food. Feedback always welcome. I cook tasty, healthy vegetarian food every day. I especially enjoy simple and affordable versions of things like spicy tahini noodles, tray roasts, Meze platters with hummus and fresh veg, one-pot meals, anything with potatoes, and sneaking in vegetables wherever possible. Big fan of spices, nutrition-aware (aim to balance protein, veg, healthy fats), and happy to adjust to preferred cuisines and flavor strength. Kid-friendly, too! Happy to make a separate portion that’s less spiced or with ingredients on the side for kiddos. Oh, and I grew up with a wedding cake baker so I’m happy to bake special treats or morning muffins for you, too.

I was lucky to be introduced to a kitchen as a young teenager in the small town where I grew up, just outside of Toronto. My introduction to the restaurant world was working as a dishwasher for a small family-style Greek restaurant in my hometown. It's safe to say it left an impression. To this day, I still regard the family I worked for as the reason I got into the restaurant and hospitality industry. I moved to the city of Toronto several years later to enroll in the Food and Beverage Diploma program at George Brown college. During this time, I still found myself drawn to the kitchen and worked in a few small bistro-style restaurants in the downtown core. After my two-year program, I was fortunate enough to stage and obtain a position at Splendido restaurant on Harbord St. This was once one of the few fine dining institutions in the city of Toronto. I pay tribute to the chefs and team there who truly gave me the opportunity to blossom and grow my career to what it is today. Since that time, I have worked in several different restaurants, developed countless menus in many different cuisines, and worked with chefs and cooks from around the world. I've been lucky enough to also take the knowledge I've obtained over the years and use it to develop and train young cooks over the past decade, which has been a real honour. Outside of work, I currently reside in downtown Toronto and love the outdoors and getting to my family's cottage located a few hours from the city. Spending time with friends and family has always been important to me, even more so now that I don't yet have a family of my own. Moving forward, I hope to continue growing my knowledge and skillset outside of the typical restaurant environment and start creating a brand of my own, with an emphasis on clean eating and lifestyle habits. That being said, my passion will always remain in the kitchen and with hospitality, creating great experiences. I have never been a personal chef in full time role. This is something I'm branching out too after working in the restaurant and hospitality industry for 18 years. That being said i have been developing custom menus for clients in and out of the restaurant for over 10 years. Taking a step back from the restaurant industry has been something I've contemplated for several years. The past several years I've been getting more focused on nutrition and clean eating, well still using my passion for cooking to create delicious & healthy food options. Cooking will be always at the forefront of my career but i hope too learn new skill sets and build out of my own brand over the next few years. Cooking for family is where it all began for me and id like to pass that along to other families which desire fresh, wholesome food.

I studied culinary arts in Mexico City and began my career working in hotels. Later, while raising my children at home, I embarked on my own business creating gourmet granola, dressings, pastries, and more. Now that my children are grown, I’m looking to return to a more hands-on culinary role. I’m especially drawn to the possibility of working with families to design menus that reflect their taste and dietary preferences. I’m comfortable with weekly lunch and dinner preparation, cooking for family gatherings, managing grocery shopping, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen space. At Hotel Camino Real, I worked as a cook and hostess, supporting menu planning, meal prep, recipe development, and catering events for groups ranging from 8 to 700 people. I have worked alongside top chefs such as, Gerardo Rivera, Olivier and Alejandro Heredia Resendiz, Completed the Food Handler’s Certification in 2015

My name is Solomiia, and I've been working as a babysitter, and a tutor for the past three years, and if needed, all references can be provided. I can tutor mathematics, languages, and science courses to senior students, and do homework, extra explanations for middle/primary schoolers. For context, I am from Ukraine and in Apr 2024, my family moved to Canada to prevent my fourteen-year-old brother from being drafted. Both of my parents have severe health issues (asthma and vision impairment), and I am in serious need to support them, because they can not work fully. All of us received work permits when we entered the country. In Toronto, since Sept 2024, I've been working as a private math tutor and a babysitter in my local neighborhood. Back in April 2024, I arrived halfway through the semester of Grade 11, and it was a big shift from my previous Ukrainian school. I adapted very quickly and finished the year with an outstanding 97%: • English - 95 (NBE3U1) • Accounting - 98 (BAF3M1) • Functions - 99 (MCR3U1) • Leadership - 98 (PLF4M1) • Chemistry - 96 (SCH3UE) • Biology - 95 (SBI3UE) I know what it means to work hard, and as long as the student is willing to work hard with me, we can achieve amazing results together. Now, I'm finishing Grade 12 with a 98% average: During my Gr 12 school year, my math teacher recommended me to her family friend, and I worked as an on-home tutor for that family, tutoring Gr 11 Math (MCR3U1) to their son. Later, I also found new tutoring opportunities: • worked as an after-school tutor, tutoring Gr 12 Math to a classmate • weekly did tutoring sessions for an IEP student, tutoring Gr 11 Math at Fort York Library • weekly tutored Gr 12 College Level Math to a girl who scored the highest score after our tutoring sessions in all of her math courses during high school! (She got an 87, majorly helping her with university applications • weekly tutoring Gr 11 Math (MCR3U1) for another IEP student at Sanderson Library These experiences helped me find personalized approaches to each student and identify their weak sides in subjects that they are taking. I prepared lessons, stayed extra time to train students better for an upcoming evaluation. I took up tutoring with appreciation, patience, and great responsibility (as if I was teaching my little brother. Additionally, I'm working as a babysitter till the end of May for a family with two children in Downtown Toronto (a 4-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy). They live 15 minutes away from me, and I come to them every morning at 7:30am before school. I change diapers, feed children, dress them, and get them ready to go to kindergarten. Because I only have two subjects this semester (Jan 2025 - May 2025), I come to the family after school at 2pm. I prepare dinner, clean up the space, meet up the children from the kindergarten, undress them, do any homework with them, and go for a walk, play interactive games. My shift ends at 7pm after the parents finish their work. My job end this May, because grandparents will come to visit their grandchildren and help out the family. This job helps me stay responsible, mindful of family needs, and dedicated. I am very kind, calm, who loves interacting with children and helping out when the family needs me the most (especially in the morning before kindergarten, and after the children come home). Sometimes, I also do laundry for the family, change bedsheets, and iron clothes. For work, I am available anytime after 12 pm during weekdays and all day long on weekends. I am open to the family's preferences and instructions. Please, if you are interested, do not hesitate to reach out to me.
