We are looking for a live in caregiver to provide services to my 2 elderly parents in their home in Saint-Leonard, Qc. My mother is 85 years old and has mild dementia with reduced mobility, but she is not wheelchair bound. She's scheduled for a knee operation in late May, which will greatly help with her mobility. We would like the majority of the rehabilitation to be at her home, to not aggravate her dementia. My father is 95 years old and is fragile, but still mobile. We need assistance for daily hygiene, bathing, assistance walking, cooking, and keeping them company, There is already help from the CLSC in place that will continue. Family also visits every day to spend time with my parents and help with anything needed. The caregiver would have a private bedroom on the 1st floor, which is the same floor where my parents sleep. The caregiver would also have access to a 2nd living room in the semi-basement. Salary is negotiable, preference is for a registered pay

This is a part-time position, requiring less than 20 hours a week, ideal for those seeking a work-life balance. The ideal candidate will be required to supervise the home while ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. An integral part of this role involves providing care in the form of conversation, engagement in activities, and keeping a stable routine. While no driving is necessary, potential candidates will need to be committed to a schedule from Monday-Sunday covering mornings, afternoons and evenings with flexibility. That is to say that the organisation of the working hours can be tailored to fit both the ideal candidate's and the patient's needs. While it is a live-out position, thus accommodation will not be provided, the location of work is easily accessible. No car required as there'll be no need to drive the patient around. Preference will be given to those individuals who have previous experience with dementia patients or willingness to learn new skills in this area. While much weightage is given to the assigning schedules, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the flexibility that this role often requires. The expected start date for this position is on the 20th February, 2024. I am looking for a resourceful individual who can provide compassionate, respectful care and become a part of our family's journey in this challenging time.
