We’re looking for a reliable and experienced cook to come twice a week and handle meal prep in our home.
This is a long-term position — we’re looking for someone who’d like to stay with us for years.
We’re located in Old Montreal, just a 5-minute walk from Place-D’Armes metro.
Schedule
• Mondays and Thursdays, about 5 to 6 hours per shift, starting at 9 AM.
• You’ll also be paid for an additional 0.5 hours per shift to read and review the recipes the day before you arrive.
Menu & Recipes
• We eat on a consistent rotation: the same lunch daily and a set list of ~12 dinner recipes that we rotate through.
• We also eat the same snacks daily, consisting of cut-up vegetables and a rotation of seasonal fruits.
• Every so often, we’ll add a new recipe to the rotation.
• All recipes are fully documented, organized, and easy to follow.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and cook the recipes we provide (no recipe creation required).
• Prep snacks, dressings, or condiments for the week.
• Follow the documented recipes while adjusting as needed (cooking times, temperatures, seasoning, etc.).
• Track recipe feedback and note any improvements or adjustments that worked well.
• Wash and prep all fruits and vegetables at the start of the day.
• Store prepared meals in our containers and refrigerate.
• Clean and reset the kitchen before leaving.
• Clean the dishes: we have a dishwasher that you can run as many times as needed, and hand-wash larger items at the end of your shift.
Requirements
• Solid kitchen experience; comfortable cooking and prepping with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independently while following written recipes.
• Professional, organized, and detail-oriented.

Pay
• $20/hour for the first month.
• $25/hour after the first month (can be sooner if you master the recipes quickly).
• Cash payment at the end of each workday.
• At 6 hours twice a week, that’s approximately $1, 200 per 4 weeks / 1 month (cash).
• A yearly bonus is paid out on January 1st (pro rata) — $1, 000 after your first year and $1, 000 every 6 months after that, to recognize your loyalty and provide a modest adjustment for cost of living over time.
