I am in need of a reliable and caring individual who is good with elderly individuals. The start date is September 13, 2024 until September 29, 2024, and the working schedule will require commitments every evening of the week, making this a part-time position with less than 20 hours per week. For five days of the week, I require help from 20:00 to 22:00. Your tasks will revolve around managing dinner preparations for a senior gentleman in his late eighties. You will primarily be responsible for reheating meals, performing some light cooking such as preparing rice and vegetables to go with the ready meat or fish dish, and cleaning up afterwards, which includes dishwashing and taking out the garbage. Occasionally, you might be asked to go shopping for a few items from the grocery store or a nearby convenience store. The remaining two days of the week will require additional service of four hours, from 19:00 to 23:00. On top of the regular duties, you will also need to be present while the senior gentleman takes his shower. There is no need for assistance or supervision within the bathroom, but your vigilance is important to ensure that he hasn't fallen. The elderly gentleman communicates fluently in both English and French, making knowledge in either or both languages advantageous. A driver's license isn't required for this position, and it does not require the use of a car. Additionally, this is a Live-Out position, so suitable applicants must have a reliable means to commute daily. Responsibilities for this position encompass grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, as well as hand washing dishes. If you're a responsible, patient, and compassionate individual who finds joy and fulfillment in caring for seniors, this position may be a perfect fit for you.

An opportunity has arisen for a compassionate, attentive, and dedicated healthcare professional to assist a senior woman living with dementia, Parkinson's, and diabetes. This role is part-time, and is ideal for someone who can provide just a few hours of care in the mornings, preferably in and around 8-11 am from Monday through Sunday. However, flexibility might be required for the right candidate. The core tasks for this role will primarily revolve around senior care, focusing on making life easier and more comfortable for the elderly woman. This includes administering insulin and other medications, bathing assistance, and the management of incontinence care. You might also need to support her with range of motion exercises to help improve her mobility and overall health. With her living conditions in mind, the responsibility of meal preparation and organization also falls under the scope of this role. Your main goal would be to create a nutritious meal plan that encompasses her dietary needs specific to her medical conditions. Companionship is another key aspect of this role. This includes planning visits, outings, trips to visit neighbors, friends, and family, always ensuring her safety and happiness. This role also requires some light housekeeping tasks, including dishwashing, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping as well as laundering, folding, and storing clothes. Bathroom cleaning and patient positioning would be required as needed. It is important to mention that you would need to be comfortable using your own car to assist with any necessary outings. You must also be willing to work with the CLSC chèque emploi service, as they will be paying/subsidizing the salary for this role. The ideal candidate would have experience working with patients who have dementia, Parkinson's, and diabetes, as well as dealing with incontinence and hearing impairment. However, training and support can be provided for candidates who are new to these areas but show a clear commitment and dedication to providing high-quality care. Please note that the chosen assistant would be predominantly living separately; hence, this is a live-out position. This role would be less than 20 hours per week, offering an immediate start for the chosen candidate. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Caregiver job in Montreal - Companion and caretaker needed
I am seeking a companion and caretaker for my sister. Of all the duties the most important will be to provide a kind and supportive presence. My sister is around thirty years old, she is relatively young. But she has been alone for to long and this isolation is very painful for her. Sadly, I am unable to visit her as often and quickly as I would like. If you have a dog which you can bring when visiting my sister, this would put you at the top of my list when I hire. I imagine a typical visit will include activities such as walking, cleaning, grocery shopping with my sister, cooking, taking her out to eat, taking her for outings and car drives if you own a car. These duties are my initial guess on where we should start. I would like to get your feedback and my sisters feedback on what helps her the most and adjust accordingly. Other information worth knowing is my sister is in a vulnerable place and desperately needs words of encouragement and kindness. At times she might cry without reason because she feels alone and perhaps the future is bleak. Do not be alarmed by this, simply stay by her side. If you feel comfortable doing so a hug or holding her hand can help during these times. There is no need for constant conversation with my sister, some is needed, but mostly a kind presence is the goal. If you feel like a good fit for this position please do apply, I would enjoy hearing from you.
