I'm searching for a caregiver for my grandfather. We already have a team however I'm looking to add a new member. I need a team player who understands that communication is key. This is a caregiving job, not a babysitting job. PAB certification is a major plus but not a deal breaker, and you must have many years of experience working with seniors. I'm looking for a candidate to fill 2 night shift positions Friday and Saturday(9pm - 9am), 2 day shift positions on the weekend Saturday and Sunday (9am - 9pm), and to be available as a replacement from time to time for other shifts (can be during the week etc.) Tasks: -Bathing/Basic grooming -Toileting assistance -Diaper changing/Cleaning -Walking assistance -Minimal cooking/cleaning -Feeding assistance -Administering medication -Checking oxygen levels -Communicating and working with other team members -Assisting with minimal mobility exercises -Taking notes/updating info on his condition when necessary -Incident reports I need someone who can think quickly on their feet, is observant, and takes initiative. My grandfather lives in his apartment with surveillance. We have people around the clock to ensure his safety. The night shift begins in the evening, overnight, and finishes in the morning when the next member starts the day shift. You are not required to stay up overnight. The weekend day shift is done side by side with another caregiver. If you are eventually selected after training and trial, you will be put on payroll. Additional responsibilities would also include changing the bed sheets weekly and aiding in carrying the laundry upstairs and downstairs. While they handle their own folding and my grandfather even enjoys cooking, your presence could be helpful and reassuring for their safety while they handle these tasks. The position is titled "Part-time companion for my Lovely grandparents". Filipino/Tagalog speaking is preferred. The placement would entail working part-time for about 20 to 30 hours a week. Working days would be from Monday to Friday, during the morning hours and extending into midday on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Primary responsibilities would include Meal Planning/Preparation, Escort to Appointments, Bathing Assistance, Plan Visits, Outings, & Trips to Visit Neighbours, Friends, Family, Dressing Grooming assistance, Housekeeping, Laundry, Errands. The core tasks for this role will primarily revolve around senior care, focusing on making life easier and more comfortable for the elderly woman. This includes administering insulin and other medications, bathing assistance, and the management of incontinence care. You might also need to support her with range of motion exercises to help improve her mobility and overall health. With her living conditions in mind, the responsibility of meal preparation and organization also falls under the scope of this role.
