I’m a 44 year old male with muscular dystrophy in a wheelchair. Light PSW services needed. The job would involve respite, grooming, laundry, meal prep, errands, positioning, change bedding, Hoyer transfers with help, etc. I live in a house that is one floor and is wheelchair accessible. I have a written out a specific list of duties that I can give if your interested. I'm pretty flexible so I think a schedule could be worked out that works for both of us. I think I’m friendly and sociable.

The work schedule required includes middle of the day shifts from Sunday to Saturday. A driver's license is not required and automobile use is not applicable as this is a live-out position. The responsibilities for this role will include housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, running errands, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, hand washing dishes, escorting to appointments, planning visits, outings, and trips to see neighbours, friends, and family, providing bathing assistance, lifts and transfers, patient positioning, ambulation assistance, dressing and grooming assistance, and toileting assistance. Experience working with visual impairment is preferred. The ideal candidate will be able to work less than 20 hours per week and be willing to provide personal care and companionship to the senior individual. We are currently seeking a Part-Time Caregiver for our kind, smart and highly-functioning autistic daughter. With a preference for the role to begin immediately, although we have flexibility with the start date, for the right candidate. Our daughter needs assistance during midday, from Monday through Friday. As her caregiver, you will provide one-on-one emotional support and companionship, encouraging her to strike a balance between dependence and self-reliance. Your responsibilities will largely involve escorting her from school, tailoring engaging activities for her in the community or at home, meal planning and preparation, running errands, organizing outings, visits, and trips to engage with neighbours, friends, and family. You'll also be required to supervise our home to ensure its safe and comfortable atmosphere. Since our daughter requires a fair amount of guidance, we are ideally in search of someone who doesn't just see this as a job, but as an opportunity to positively impact another person's life. Previous experience or keen interest in caregiving, special needs, autism development, and mental health awareness is a significant advantage. A driver's license is essential for this role as the successful candidate will be required to use their own car for transportation. There may also be an opportunity for us to provide a vehicle for transportation for the right, trusted candidate. This live-out position, it is approximated at 20 - 30 hours per week. OTHER: • Strong command of English language and French language • Flexible to work various shifts • Employment is conditional upon a clear Police Clearance (including a Vulnerable Sector Search) • Must have their own reliable transportation, or a quarterly or monthly refillable b-card.
