Starting from 12th of May, 2026, I am in search of an experienced and compassionate individual to fill a part-time senior/healthcare position. As a Senior Care assistant, the chosen candidate will be required to work less than 20 hours a week, during the middle of the day from Monday to Sunday. Due to the nature of the job, a valid driver's license is a must. Additionally, it would be necessary to have a personal automobile for commuting and potentially other responsibilities. The tasks are comprehensive and go beyond basic housekeeping tasks. As a caregiver for an elderly relative with Alzheimer's/Dementia, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assistance with bathing, meal planning/preparation, laundry duties. Hand washing dishes and maintaining a clean household environment will also be part of the job. As the post involves care for someone suffering from Alzheimer/Dementia, it is quite crucial to have prior experience with and/or willingness to work with such cases. Experience with incontinence (diapers) will also be highly valuable for this job. This is a live-out position, meaning that while the care required is intimate and personalized, we respect your personal space and time, and do not require the professional to live with the family they are assisting. This is a sensitive and often challenging role that requires a lot of empathy, understanding, and, above all, a genuine interest in providing the best quality of life possible to those in our care. I'm seeking a skilled, compassionate personal support worker, needed to aid an elderly couple with daily living tasks. These tasks include housekeeping, laundry, meal planning, preparation, as well as cleaning the bathroom. Your assistance will extend to bathing and grooming, ensuring a comfortable and dignified lifestyle for the couple. This position is part-time requiring your commitment for less than 20 hours weekly. The work schedule would be focused around mid-day on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with flexibility according to our agreed upon times. One of the vital aspects of the role is experience with, or a willingness to work with individuals who have dementia, osteoporosis, or arthritis. Having experience or knowledge in dementia support would thus be a significant advantage. Having the ability not only to live out but to prepare meals, do household cleaning, aid with bathing and laundry are part of the daily requirements of this role. We've arrived at the conclusion that we need someone who would be willing to assist her in preparation of daily meals. Her nutritional needs are paramount, and while she has always cherished her cooking, it's become too heavy a task for her of late. We believe slight assistance with light house keeping duties from a responsible person would immensely help her. House chores such as dusting and vacuuming can take a toll on her energy levels, and we would like to ensure that she can rest and enjoy her time without these concerns. In addition, we also feel that she could really benefit from the gift of companionship. While she values her alone time and is very contended throughout her day, we think having someone around to share experiences, chit-chat, play cards, or even just watch her favorite TV shows together would truly enhance her happiness and wellbeing. Hence, we are actively looking for a compassionate, patient, and kind-hearted individual who could become her companion and friend.

My 71 year old wife will have major surgery for stomach cancer. This surgery will be as soon as possible, time is of the essence to prevent spreading of cancer cells. We would like to have immediate live-in help. We live in Dundas, Ontario - part of Hamilton - in a 2 story house, she will be using the main floor bedroom, we have a 2 piece bathroom on the same main floor, but the shower and bathtub are on the upper floor. We were preparing to move to Vancouver so many boxes are all around after packing, but this move will not be happening any time soon due to this almost-immediate major operation. My 31 year old son is back from Vancouver to help, but he needs to return to his Vancouver job after my wife has had the operation and after she has become stabilized. It is important that the live-in caregiver is experienced medically and not having to learn the very basics of caring for sick people. Neither my son nor I have any knowledge of medicine, so we are in no position to guide any caregiver regarding medicare care. Other matters will include light housekeeping, cooking, feeding and laundry.
