We are a busy family looking for a reliable, organized and proactive Mother’s Helper / Household Assistant to help keep our home running smoothly throughout the week. This is not primarily a childcare position and is not a traditional deep-cleaning position. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping maintain a busy family home — keeping things tidy and organized, staying on top of laundry and everyday messes, helping with simple meal preparation, and generally helping us “reset” the house throughout the week. Hours & Schedule Approximately 15–18 hours per week, ideally spread over 4–5 days per week. We are currently flexible on timing and would be happy to discuss what works best for the right person. Two schedules we are considering are: • Late morning/daytime, for example around 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.; OR • Afternoon/early evening, for example around 4:00–7:00 p.m. There may also be flexibility to create a combination of daytime and afternoon shifts. Pay $20/hour Responsibilities may include: • General tidying and resetting of the home • Picking up and putting away toys, clothing and household items • Keeping the kitchen tidy, loading/unloading the dishwasher and wiping counters • Sweeping/vacuuming high-traffic areas as needed • Laundry — washing, drying, folding and putting away • Changing bed linens • Light household cleaning and maintaining already-clean spaces • Simple meal preparation and food prep • Helping clean up the kitchen/dining area after meals when working an evening shift • Taking out garbage/recycling as needed • Organizing children’s belongings and common areas • Restocking household items and helping keep things organized • Other light household tasks that help keep a busy family home running smoothly We have children, so our home can get messy quickly! A big part of this role is helping us stay ahead of the everyday clutter and mess rather than allowing everything to pile up for one big cleaning day. Who we’re looking for We would love to find someone who is: • Dependable and punctual • Trustworthy and comfortable working independently in our home • Naturally tidy and organized • Proactive — someone who notices what needs doing rather than needing detailed instructions for every task • Efficient and comfortable moving between different household tasks • Comfortable around children and the normal activity of a busy family home • Interested in a consistent, ongoing part-time position Previous experience as a mother’s helper, nanny, household assistant or housekeeper would be an asset. We are hoping to find someone who can become a regular and trusted part of our household routine rather than someone looking for occasional cleaning work. My husband and I are looking for a housekeeper who loves dogs. We live downtown with our two dogs (kids are grown and have flown the nest). We are flexible but our ideal situation is someone who could come 3 - 4 days a week, for about 3 hours per day while we are at work. We would like someone to take care of the housekeeping (regular cleaning, bed changing, limited laundry, deep cleaning) as well as take the two dogs (small and medium sized) out for pee or walk. We are flexible on days generally and are also able to accomodate schedule changes / days away. We are flexible on the time of day but would prefer something between 9 and 4. We are also flexible on the number of hours - overall, we are looking for someone to do the things we wish we had more time to do and for someone to be home so our dogs aren't alone during the day. Our ideal person would be able to implement a schedule for regular / deep cleaning so that everything was regularly looked after.
