We are a professional family seeking a full-time experienced House Manager/Butler for our home in Westmount, Quebec. The successful candidate will be experienced with providing a range of services to ensure the smooth operation of the household and exceptional care to family members and guests. This is a full-time, live-out position, with a typical work schedule from Monday to Friday, but flexibility is required to accommodate occasional evening and weekend hours as needed. Duties will include: • Full management of the estate. • Overseeing of household staff (cleaning, landscaping, maintenance) and any other staff required to maintain the house. • Management of household inventories. • Maintenance of household accounts as requested. • Daily meal preparation. • Formal dinner preparation and service as requested. • Shopping and errands for the house. • Chauffeuring duties (exceptionally). • Managing car maintenance. • Light cleaning • Hiring of additional staff as directed. • Management of our condo downtown and possibly our house in Halifax. • Additional duties providing care of immediate family members as requested. Successful candidate must have a well-groomed professional appearance and have a genuine interest in household management, food preparation and service. Discretion, reliability, work ethic and attention to details are key to succeeding in this role. After an initial period of training and an opportunity to become familiar with our home, you will have the initiative to know what is needed without direction. You may be called upon to deal with trades and/or vendors when required. To offset the occasions when you will be required to work evenings or weekends, there will be occasions when your workload is significantly reduced as we travel extensively throughout the year. I speak English and French and have a medium-sized dog (American Eskimo).
