I am a second-year Early Learning and Child Care student going into my third year at Mount Royal University, with hands-on practicum and volunteer experience working with children in classroom and preschool settings. Through my practicum at Providence Windsor Park and AKIDEMY Hillhurst Preschool, I have built strong relationships with children, supported daily routines, and worked closely with teams to create safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments.
I regularly plan activities based on children’s interests and what they enjoy, using a playful, child-centered approach to support meaningful learning. I also support children with daily care needs, including helping with bathroom routines and preparing snacks and lunches, while promoting independence and healthy habits. I enjoy observing children closely and using those observations to guide my planning and interactions.
In addition to my formal experience, I have been caring for my younger cousins since I was 12 years old whenever our parents travel or during family sleepovers. I naturally take on a caregiving role and enjoy teaching them through music, arts and crafts, and fun learning activities. These experiences helped me develop patience, responsibility, and a genuine love for working with children. Overall, I am reliable, compassionate, and passionate about supporting children’s learning, growth, and well-being.
I also enjoy hiking, camping and reading and I have approximately 200 plus book at home too.
