My name is Kristine, and I am 29 years old living in Mount Pleasant, Calgary. I am currently looking for a part-time or full-time nanny position. I have over 4 years of experience caring for children from newborns to toddlers. Before coming to Canada, I was an Elementary Education teacher, teaching children aged 4 to 12 years old. My background in education has given me valuable skills in child development, learning, and creating engaging age-appropriate activities. I am experienced in feeding babies solid foods, supporting developmental milestones such as sitting and crawling, putting children down for naps, and providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. I enjoy helping children learn and grow through play and educational activities. While the baby is napping, I am happy to assist with baby-related household tasks, including light housekeeping, children’s laundry, bottle washing and sanitizing, meal preparation for the child, and keeping play areas organized and clean. I am reliable, patient, caring, and genuinely enjoy working with children. Please note that I do not drive, so I would be best suited for positions that do not require transportation duties. I look forward to connecting with families who are looking for a dedicated and trustworthy caregiver. I work as a Elementary teacher for 5 years to my home country and came here in Canada as a Home child care provider for 3 years now.

I originally attended university with the intention of becoming a sociologist, but found working as a nanny suited my personality and life style better. I have a firm believe that it is my job is to compliment the philosophies put forth by the parents. I will maintain the routines and parenting styles that are used by the employer. I do enjoy being a part of helping a child reach their potential, but always in a way that is accepted by the parents. My personal interests are varied. I enjoy reading and crafts, as well as camping and hiking. I have been employed as a horseback riding instructor in the past and as a camp counsellor. I was a board member for the animal rescue group called Calgary Animal Rescue Society for 6 years. I am also involved in the service dog community, where I help people who are trying to train their own dogs. I also enjoy trying anything new though I am not a fan of high-risk activities. I would definitely describe myself as easy-going and generally nice. I am compassionate and gentle and seldom raise my voice. I have a firm moral code and an excellent work ethic. I interact exceedingly well with children of all temperaments and I do genuinely enjoy watching them learn about the world and mastering new skills. I also try to teach any children in my care some DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) skills. This leaves each child with a set of skills that can help them for the rest of their lives. These skills focus primarily on emotional regulation and interpersonal skills. Working as a nanny has taught me that patience is definitely one of my virtues and that every day will bring at least one surprise. I hope that I will be able to obtain a new position as a nanny as it is a job that I find entirely enjoyable. The first family I worked for had a boy aged 18m and a girl age 5, I took the girl to the bus stop every morning and then did a variety of activities with the little boy. We went to the local Ontario Early Years Center, story time at the local library and attended several drop in groups as well. At home we worked on age appropriate goals (colours, number alphabet ect). I helped the little girl with any homework and also attended the local Sparks group with her. In the house I was responsible for feeding the children and the dog as well as keeping the house tidy. I worked for this family for 2 years and have excellent reference from them. The second family I worked for had a little girl 18m. a boy age 5 and a second boy age 7. This family provided a family owned vehicle allowing me to drive the children to and from school. I also took the little girl to activities such as Mom and Me Swimming, gymnastics and story times. I prepared the children's meals, kept the house tidy and did the children's laundry. During the summer I took all 3 children to everything from soccer camp to day trips to local provincial parks. I also worked for this family for 2 years and also have excellent references. I have worked for 2 families with twins on a part-time or as-needed basis. Most of the care was kept strictly in the home or the surrounding area. It also included meal preparation and tidying up after the children. I have lost contact with the one family, but the second one will provided an excellent reference. Another family I have worked for in a long term basis was after school care for a set of 6y old triplets and their 9y old sibling. Most activities were done in the home area, but there was occasional outings. This job involved home work supervision and some limited dinner prep for the family. I also did the kids laundry. I have worked as an occasional sitter for a 10m old boy, a family with 2 young boys and one other family with four girls. It was simple child-care that was based in home and did not involve any additional responsibilities. I worked for a family where the wife was on maternity leave. I watched their identical twin boys for two half days and sometime two full days per week. The boys were four months when I started and were eleven months old when she returned to work. I was responsible for feeding the boys, changing diapers, putting them down for naps, and as they got older providing a stimulating environment for them. I enjoyed helping them to reach all of their milestones, and cannot believe that they went from helpless infants to active crawlers in such a short period of time. After working for the family where the wife was on Maternity Leave I was employed by a single father with 4 year old twins. I watched the boys for full days on M, W and every other Friday and provided before and after school care on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On non-school days I provided meals, took the boys to parks and activities and kept the house generally tidy. This job ended when the family moved due to a change in employment. After the position with single father ended, I took a position working full time as a nanny for a family with 3 boys (6 years old and 3 year old twins). I took the oldest boy to school and took the twins to various drop-in locations, activities and parks. I provided meals and do some light housekeeping. On occasion I provided evening care so the parents could go on 'date nights' or overnight care so they could have weekend trips. This position ended when the twins began school, and I decided to move to Alberta. After moving to Alberta from Ontario, I have only worked for one family. I was employed to work all day Friday and Sunday, with some occasional date nights. The family had a 4 year old girl and a 18 month boy. My responsibilities included transporting the children (in the family vehicle) to and from programs, and to take them out and about around Calgary. The family had season passes to both the zoo and to the science center. At the home I prepared the children's meals, maintained the napping schedule, created fun age appropriate activities, and did light housework. I worked for this family for around 2 years, and expect them to provide a positive reference. I left my last childcare position in order to provide care for my 2 elderly (80’s) parents, as their health was in decline. I spent 3 years taking care of my parents until they both passed. In September 2025 I began a position taking care of an 8 year old boy after school. I have been responsible for transporting him home or to after school activities. I provide him with a snack or meal as required. I engage with him in a wide range of crafts and activities. Occasionally I supervise him having play dates at the home. I do some light housekeeping in addition to taking care of the child. I have my bachelors degrees in both Sociology and English, as well as a masters degree in Sociology. Additionally I have a clean CRC for vulnerable people, a variety of leadership programs offered through both Girl Guides of Canada and Scouts Canada. I have had my CPR/First Aid many times in the past, and I am currently certified. I have also completed the Alberta Health and Safety for Child Care course, as well as WHIMIS, and Food Safety Basics. I am also open to obtaining any additional qualifications that an employer would like me to have acquired.

I am a fun-loving, honest, reliable and organized person. I have been working in chlld care in Calgary for 15 years. I believe in doing the best job I can for any given work. I have a genuine love for children and that is why I enjoy my work. I believe that children are smart and therefore we need to listen to what they have to say. I also believe that creating a positive environment for them helps their growth and development. I am dependable and trust worthy. My first employer (whom I stayed with for 4 1/2 years) left the care of her twins with me and said her mind is at peace when the kids were with me. My last employer expressed that "Martha has consistently demonstrated exceptional caregiving skills for my son". You can email or call me. I have extensive experience as a Caregiver/Nanny to children from birth until 7 y/o. Those years were fruitful for me because I enjoyed being with children and had the opportunity to care for and guide them. The twins I took care of had serious allergies (milk and egg) and I was really careful in their food intake, both at home and when we're outside like in parks or play dates. They're now 16 years old and in school and are fun, healthy, smart and well rounded kids. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: I have been enjoying working with children for 15 years now and I have taken cared of children who had severe milk an egg allergies, I am very careful when preparing the food of the kids who I take care of. I have also taken cared of a six year old boy with medical and behavioural challenges. I also attended a course on food safety handling and regularly renew my Child First Aid & CPR and an updated Police check. I graduated from a university in the Philippines with a degree in Communication Arts. I also finished a Caregiving Course with hands-on training. After that I was employed as a Caregiver until I was hired as a nanny in Canada. I have 15 years of childcare experience in Calgary.

I would describe myself as a kind, reliable, patient, and easy-going person with a positive attitude and lots of energy. Kids feel comfortable with me, and parents can rely on me. I have my own car and am happy to help with school drop-offs, activities, and outings. I love being outdoors, doing crafts, playing games, and finding creative ways to keep kids engaged. Whether we’re being active, getting creative, or having a calm day at home, I always try to create a safe, happy, and supportive environment. I am also a huge animal lover as well! Any furry friend of yours is a friend of mine :). I’m Monika, I’m a Psychology graduate and I’ll be pursuing an Education degree in September of 2026. I absolutely love working with kids and have several years of hands on childcare experience. I’ve worked at both day camps and overnight camps, caring for children of all ages.
