I am Tharsika, a passionate and dedicated PSW graduate with honors from Conestoga College. Currently residing in Scarborough, I am eager and ready to start working immediately. I am fresh in the industry with a year of experience, but I am filled with an innate passion to care for others. I am available full-time during the week, including weekends, for mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Importantly, I am also open to relocation and travel within my work. Although I do not have a driver's license or vehicle for work, my willingness to help exceeds boundaries. I don't smoke, and I am easy-going in nature. I strive to offer quiet, patient, gentle, and kind care to all my clients. My absolute goal is to go beyond your expectations to achieve your happiness. In addition to housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, errands, pet care, and vacuuming, I am proficient in providing bathing assistance, lifts and transfers, bed baths, toileting assistance, and bathing assistance. Along with my PSW certificate, I hold a first aid certificate and a CPR certificate, making me even more capable in dealing with emergency care scenarios. I am open to working in clinics, hospitals, retirement homes, or home health care. My heart is in caregiving and providing personal support as an integral part of my role. I prefer a live-in arrangement if it is a match for both of us. You can rest assured that I am capable of assisting children with disabilities, showing them the same level of care and support as anyone else in my charge. I am ready to bring a sense of calm, safety, and reassuring professionalism to your loved ones. In my care, they are in good hands. I currently work with CILT as a PSW where I take care of a wonderful, elderly woman. In this job, I assisted in showering & dressing, transfers, and other tasks such as pet care and light meal prep/dishwashing/housekeeping(laundry, sweeping, mopping). To me, a job as a PSW means treating my clients more as family. I love to help out in whatever ways I can. I also graduated at Conestoga College with honors (deans list). During my time at Conestoga, my placement was at SageCare where I gained experience in dealing with elderly with conditions such as Alzhiemers and Dementia. While at SageCare, I performed tasks such as: bed baths, basic hygiene (brushing teeth/washing face), getting dressed, toiletting, feeding and repositioning in bed. I also helped out with washing and putting away silverware/cutlery and doing laundry. I am double vaccinated and I take safety protocols very seriously (washing hands, sanitizing, wearing a mask & gloves + social distancing) against COVID-19.

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto seeking extra work while I complete my dissertation. I'm also an actor/screenwriter, so I live a fairly quiet life doing creative and collaborative work. I'm great with people of all ages. I have a calm, and friendly demeanor, and a wealth of patience. If working out of an employer's home, the only caveat is that I have to be able to bring my small, well-behaved dog (Zorro) along. He's great with kids and the elderly, he's quiet, and generally a great little guy. Overall, in terms of duties, I'm flexible. Please note I am NOT a healthcare professional. But I'm happy to run errands, keep someone company, do housecleaning, prepare some meals, remind about medication, help with pets or kids, and even get someone to appointments if needed (my car is not very classy, bit of a rustbucket, but I have 15+ years driving experience with a valid license and a clean record, and am comfortable driving the employer's car). I have never been paid for this kind of job exactly, but I'm great with all people, including older adults and the elderly. I like getting to know folks who have life experience, and was very close with my grandparents, who both had varying needs near the end of their life. I'm friendly and patient, and competitive at Scrabble!! PhD (all but dissertation/in progress)

I have over 10 years of experience caring for my aging parents in Vancouver, BC. My 94-year-old dad lives independently at home with my sister. I help care for him long-distance while she is at work or taking care of herself. When I lived in Vancouver, I was directly involved in the geriatric, Alzheimer’s, and long-term care journey with my mom. I kept my siblings informed of her progress and eventual decline with dignity. Having raised a wonderful daughter (who is now a nurse), I have found many similarities (and also many differences) between caring for aging parents and raising a child. When taking care of seniors, it is important to respect their status, include them in their care plan, tap into their knowledge, and bring fun back into their lives to provide compassionate care. As a caregiver and mother, I understand that burnout is a real issue. It can be challenging to maintain a positive attitude and a sense of humor when we are caring for our parents, children, work, marriage, and ourselves all at the same time. I wish I had learned about respite care earlier. As an entrepreneur who loves meeting new people, traveling, exploring eateries and cultural spots, I have considered becoming a Dementia Doula or pursuing a related field. By utilizing my love for life and over 10 years of experience, I aim to provide the support and reassurance that your family may need in the care of your loved one. They deserve to maintain a dignified and comfortable quality of life in their senior years. I'm a business consultant from Vancouver, BC. I've gone through the geriatric, Alzheimer’s and LTC journey with my mom. Now that I'm based in Toronto, I help care for my dad long-distance. I'd like to apply my learnings to a caring family here. I am a compassionate and reliable caregiver with experience working in both retirement homes and private home care settings. I have a strong background in providing personal support to seniors, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. I come from a close-knit family and value respect, responsibility, and kindness in everything I do. I have a valid driver’s license and access to a car, which allows me to be flexible and dependable for various shifts and locations. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, nature walks, and learning new skills related to health and wellness. I take pride in being patient, attentive, and genuinely caring—qualities that help me build meaningful relationships with those I support. I have experience working at L’Chaim Retirement Home, where I provided personal care to elderly residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility support, and meal preparation. I monitored and recorded vital signs, communicated changes in health to nursing staff, and ensured a clean and safe environment. In addition to facility work, I have also provided private home care, offering one-on-one support tailored to each client’s needs. This included personal hygiene, medication reminders, light housekeeping, companionship, and transportation to appointments. I am dedicated to delivering compassionate, respectful care and supporting clients in maintaining their dignity and independence.
