Furthermore, I worked for four years in a nursing home, specifically in the Alzheimer’s unit. Through these experiences, I have developed strong skills in patience, empathy, communication, and maintaining dignity and respect for elderly individuals. years caring for two elderly grandmothers Stroke patient care experience General senior support and supervision 2 years caring for my father 4 years caring for my mother Assistance with personal hygiene Meal preparation and feeding support Medication reminders Mobility assistance 4 years working in Alzheimer’s unit (nursing home) Community Service Worker( CSW) Diploma

I am the last of four children. I am a chemist who is passionate about helping people, loves to cook, travel, meet new people, learn about new cultures and things, family-oriented, and has a soft spot for children and the elderly. As a child, I always wanted a job where I could help people. I used to think that the only role that would give me that opportunity was to be a doctor, but after witnessing a gruesome car accident that left me too emotional to assist, I decided to pursue a different path. I first worked as a field editor for the National Demographic and Health Survey, where I had the opportunity to work in remote areas and help sensitize and educate people, especially women, on reproduction, childbirth, malnutrition, child mortality due to dehydration, and the dangers of female genital mutilation. I then moved on to regulatory affairs and pharmaceutical quality control for over 10 years. This work was rewarding because for every analysis conducted properly, millions were saved. However, I wanted more. I created a kiddie's world where my friends and I reached out to children to make them feel loved and special. When my grandma was diagnosed with colon cancer, I took several months off work to take care of her both in and out of the hospital. I loved the joy that my presence brought her, and I cared for her for about three years. Even as her dementia increased with age, I did not stop caring for her. It was the best gift I could give her, and I promised myself that I would continue to provide love and care. This is why I am now seeking positions where I can show the same love and care to others who are elderly. I am kind, patient, caring, and will treat your family with utmost care and respect if given the opportunity. I have no paid experience in this role as I did for a family member. I took care of my grandma for about 3 years, and it was the most rewarding experience. I chose this role for two reasons. Firstly, I am passionate about helping people and have a soft spot for the elderly. Secondly, I believe this role gives me the opportunity to show seniors all the love, support, and care they showed us when we were children and vulnerable. I love the idea of making sure they are happy, appreciated, and cared for. I have experience in companionship, mobility assistance, rehabilitation assistance, bathing, dressing, and grooming. I also have experience in grocery shopping and meal preparation, feeding, BP checks using a handheld device, medication administration based on prescription, hospital appointments and follow-ups, taking walks, and leading exercises.
