I am writing to express my sincere interest in the Live-in/Live-Out Caregiver position. I have a strong commitment to compassionate care and a genuine desire to support individuals with their daily needs. While I may not have official work experience in caregiving, I believe my personal experience and dedication make me a strong candidate for this role. I cared for my grandmother when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I supported her with daily hygiene tasks like bathing, combing her hair, changing her bedding, and accompanying her on walks. My grandmother raised me, and because of that, I’ve always had a deep connection and respect for seniors. That experience taught me how important patience, empathy, and attentiveness are when caring for someone, and I’ve carried those values with me ever since. Currently, I am enrolled in a Health Care Assistant (HCA) certificate program to gain formal training and build on my practical knowledge. I’m committed to learning and growing in this field because I truly enjoy helping others, especially seniors who may need emotional support as much as physical care. I have experience working with patients living with brain injuries, mild dementia, and spina bifida. My responsibilities included safely transferring clients between the bed and wheelchair, assisting with bathing and daily hygiene routines, preparing meals, administering medications as directed, and maintaining a clean and comfortable living environment. I am a compassionate, reliable, and hardworking caregiver who takes pride in providing respectful, patient-centered care while supporting both the physical and emotional well-being of those I assist. I am enrolled in the HCA certificate at Kootenay Columbia College in Vancouver.

- A God fearing, honest, fair, and law-abiding individual. Responsible in any given tasks, highly motivated, and most especially I can work under pressure with minimum supervision . Being a hard working, determined, and strong-willed has been my inspirations to provide not only for my own but my family as well. As I believe, “ If you have the Will and Faith you can do anything that you desire.” Experienced in handling patient with PROGRESSIVE SUPRA-NUCLEAR PALSY (PSP), where patient requires complete supervision, and observations. Since this neurological disorder affects the movements, impaired gait which leads to sudden freezing of the patient ( If this happens, taken from the experience, first close the open mouth of the patient by lifting up the jaw to unlocked it from freezing then lift the patient with your arms and shake the body to recover from stiffness.) also affects the vision, speech, axial rigidity, swallowing deficits, as well as the mood and other changes. PSP patients have the tendencies to fall backwards, their eyeballs are straightforward, since the brain neurons are the affected ones, and they require physiotherapy to prevent from stiffing. Proper medication is also required in this case. They only have a maximum of 6 - 10 years from the very beginning of the disease and usually died in their sleep ( braindead) and so I give the best care that I could with my patient until he left the world after 6 years. Experienced in taking care of a patient with PARKINSON’S DISEASE, where patient has a severe shaking, falling, also have difficulties in swallowing and speaking, and most of the time aggressive. Patients with this disease requires attention, supervision, and physiotherapy to help lessen the shaking and calming the tired body. Proper medications and sometimes the used of Cannabis is prescribed to prevent patient from shaking and falling. You need to give your 100% patience, love and care in this case. For the patient to eat well what I usually do is to ask his favorite food and cook it. Just always show your respect to the patient. They like being alone, but what I used to do is that to stay right behind him most of the time, to prevent him from irritation. From my observation on this case, patient are sometimes hot tempered but in the contrary they are also giving, understanding and loving. Experienced in patient with DEMENTIA AND ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE, one of the most challenging patient I ever took care of. This case really needs focus and extreme observation since the mood changes in no specific time, usually patients have a hard time recognizing and adjusting in everything and anything that surround them. Immeasurable patience and love is necessary for this case, but once the patient felt that they are belong and loved, then they’ll be giving you the same response. Avoid wrong and harsh words because it only makes the patient more aggressive and will worsen the illness. Used of sweet, comforting words will help patient at ease. I usually do remedies like lightning scented candles and playing patient’s favorite music during bathing, because it helps make the mood smooth and continuous. Holding hands and hugging will make them feel cared and loved. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Providing full assistance for my couple patients where Mr. Asaf has PROGRESSIVE SUPRA-NUCLEAR PALSY (PSP), while mrs. Asaf has ALZHEIMER’S and PARKINSON’S DISEASE. Responsible in cooking and in preparation of my patients’ everyday meals. As a live-in caregiver, I’m the one responsible in preparing my patients in their everyday clothings and hygienes, toiletries, bathing, grooming and their laundries. Responsible in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the entire house. Walking with my patients every afternoon at the park to get some fresh air, meet some of their friends and to have a more relaxing day. Massaging my patients arms, body and legs everyday for them to feel more comfortable and relaxed. Giving recreational activities to prevent patients from boredom.
