The Ambassador of Italy to Canada is seeking to recruit a Housekeeper for his Residence in Gatineau, Québec. This is a full-time position, subject to a probationary period, and will start as soon as possible. Roles and Responsibilities The precise range of duties will vary over time, but will include the following: Overall management of day-to-day running of the Residence Cleaning of kitchen, food preparation areas and all kitchen equipment to a high standard Care and management of all assets in the Residence Set-up, organization, serving, and tidy-up of events Help in preparation of meals and catering of functions including receptions, buffets, sit down breakfasts, lunches and dinners To provide coffee/tea and meeting facilities upon request Supervision of the Residence premises, including liaison with security, landscaping, and other contractors and delivery operatives on site First line maintenance and liaising with Embassy on maintenance and contracts Day-to-day cleaning of the public and private areas of the Residence Laundry – including washing, ironing and steaming Answering the door/telephone and taking messages Upkeep of the immediate external areas (patio and walkways) Occasional front of-house duties at official events to support the wider team Out of hours work when required Notification of any repairs and maintenance required. Essential Requirements candidates must be able to demonstrate Experience working in hospitality Fluency in English High degree of integrity and trust Reliable and can work on own initiative Attention to detail Strong organizational and management skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Candidates must have the right to live and work in Canada at time of application Terms and conditions of employment The successful candidate will be hired for a probation period of two weeks. Upon successful completion of probation, the employee shall receive the final contract Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with standard office hours from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm The salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience The position will require regular out of hours work in the evening/at weekend to be agreed in advance A live-in accommodation may be considered.
