I'm creating a company that competes against the like of Uber Eats, Factor_ and others. It's called Myshkin. The way it works is similar to a buffet. In a buffet, you pay a fixed price and get an endless quantity of food. This would be a fixed price for an endless quantity of food + delivery. That is, for one flat monthly fee, customers would get to order a seemingly infinite amount of meals from our small menu of 5-6 items, and they'd be delivered to them whenever they like, to wherever you are.
The way it works is we'd have a ghost kitchen set up within the city where meals would be premade. These meals would then be stored in heated delivery vans for drivers to deliver the food to customers whenever they order.
We're looking for a Chef that can work with us to start a 3-month trial run of 10 customers in Mississauga/Toronto. You'd be cooking roughly 40-80 meals a day. You'd be in charge of setting our menu (example menu on our website), which would change every few days, getting the raw ingredients, cooking the preplanned meals and handing them off to the driver for the day. This trial run would involve you cooking at your house for the first 10 customers, but as we grow to we'd get a ghost kitchen for you to work in, and more chefs soon after.
The work schedule we'd have to plan ourselves as we get closer to the trial. But I imagine, with the menu being something like 1 breakfast meal and 4 lunch/dinner, that the schedule will involve cooking breakfasts early and ending early for the day after cooking the lunches and dinners.
We're looking for someone capable of running the kitchen on their own. Knowledge of kitchen safety standards, even if this trial is at your home, is good. Experience leading a kitchen as well. I'm new to hiring a Chef so if you could tell me what I should look for when hiring that'd be great.
Important to emphasize that this role doesn't have to just be for the duration of the trial, being the first Chef on our team means having the chance to lead the efforts as we grow and scale operations. More open to Chefs that are interested in staying long-term.
