Home support worker required for a delightful young woman with disabilities. The client is nonverbal and non-mobile and requires signficant personal and medical support. She is social, and outgoing, with a very positive loving disposition and enjoys spending time in the community. Shifts include an 8 am to 4 pm, 4 pm to 8 pm and overnight 8 pm to 8 am shift. We are seeking one person to join our team for in a Full time role. The day of the week and shift to be selected will be based on discussions with the successful candidate and their availability. The job will start with overnight shifts and then additional shifts may be added in the 4 pm to 8 pm shift time. Starting date is flexible and the position is ongoing. There is flexibility in the shifts you will work. This position will be trained to be able to work on all shifts and provide backup for staff holidays and during times of increased medical support. You are energetic, experienced, confident and can follow specific protocols created to provide the best outcomes for your client. Generally you work independently but connect with your team members at the start and end of each shift. Your team members are long terms staff with decades of experience working with this client. You excel at taking feedback from your employer and incorporating it into your work tasks. You are mindful and present in your work. Candidates may have a nursing, nursing assistant or medical or health care background or home care support worker experience. A safe driving record is required as is a current class 5 drivers license. You have excellent references and a deep commitment and love for this field or work. This position can be live in or live out. This position is open only for candidates in Canada with authorization to work in Canada. There is an LMIA for potential candidates with the appropriate work permit or participating in the Home Support Worker Pilot . Reimbursement of moving expenses is possible for candidates moving from other cities in Canada to this location.

I am looking for a kind, reliable live-in caregiver for my mother, an 88-year-old widow living at home in Oak Bay. Her current caregiver must go back home in January. My mom uses a walker and takes daily pills. She is mentally sharp but physically weak. Her main need is assistance getting in and out of bed, companionship and general safety. She enjoys reading and drinking tea. She is a quiet, friendly person. Tagalog language required. Can you answer a few quick questions, please: Are you available for live-in elder care in the Oak Bay Victoria area? Have you done live-in care before? Can you assist with helping her into and out of her bed (bed transfers)? If after a few months, if she needs to continue the care, would you be open to a longer-term live-in position? I am excited to announce an available position for a compassionate and experienced individual passionate about senior health care. This full-time role involves providing attentive assistance to our elderly loved one. The ideal candidate will be required to undertake a wide range of responsibilities including bed pan usage, bathing assistance, toileting assistance, patient positioning, and providing dressing and grooming assistance to maintain the senior's dignity. Offering performing lifts, transfers, and range of motion exercises will also be among your duties. This position's schedule falls primarily on evenings and nights from Monday to Friday, with particular emphasis on providing overnight toileting assistance and morning hygiene care. It would be to our mutual advantage if you have previous experience with, or you are enthusiastic about working with seniors dealing with Parkinson's disease, stroke, incontinence (diaper usage), and paralysis. One critical aspect to stress is that driving duties will not be required, hence the possession of a driver's license or use of a vehicle isn't necessary. However, you will be expected to provide exceptional palliative and Parkinson care, further influencing our senior's life quality positively. The commitment involves 30 to 40 hours per week. Although it is desirable for the caregiver to live-in, we also welcome those who prefer a live-out arrangement. We value the significance embodied in this role; hence, we intend to fill the position urgently. Elderly couple in North Saanich requiring full time care. The 85 year old woman with dementia requires assistance with all activities of daily living, inclusive of incontinence care. She uses a wheelchair for mobility and there is a portable lift in the home for transfers. The 91 year husband requires minimal assistance, mostly with reminders and dinner prep. There is also daily laundry, meal preparation and general household duties required. There is a small dog in the home. Shifts are somewhat flexible but need to fit within the hours of 7:30-1:30 pm, 1:30-7:30 pm or 7:30pm to 7:30 pm. We currently have all shifts available for back up and also regular 24 hour weekend shifts for the month of December. At least one regular ongoing weekend shift available come Jan /23. There are also 6 hr weekday shifts available (1:30pm-7:30 pm)

We seek a caregiver/helper for my mother (74, with Alzheimer's & vascular dementia) and her partner (73, with chronic dizziness, hindering his ability to maintain the house). We need someone for 8 hours weekly, assisting mom with daily struggles & routine household tasks. Deep cleaning and decluttering might require a separate hire but this skillset would be an asset. Had to choose time slots to post the ad, but hours are flexible; availability for occasional overnights is preferred. Given their limited income, we need compassionate rates while ensuring fair compensation.
