I’m Ella, a passionate and creative tutor and student based in Montreal. I am currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies with double minors in Jewish Studies and Sociology at McGill University. Through my studies, I have developed strong writing and research skills, and I am currently working toward publishing some of my own work.
I have about eight years of tutoring experience, beginning in high school where I helped children with English, Social Sciences, and basic math, and continuing through university where I have supported peers with essays, research, and complex ideas. My approach is patient and process focused. I use tools like mind maps, break tasks into smaller steps, and encourage confidence building throughout the learning process. I also have experience supporting children with ADHD, anxiety, and mood disorders, and I always adapt my style to fit the needs of each learner.
Beyond academics, I have worked as a guide leading Jewish food and history walking tours, which deepened my passion for public education and for making knowledge engaging and accessible. I also love writing poems and short stories, cooking and baking, and doing arts and crafts, especially collage and drawing. My core values include curiosity, community, kindness, creativity, and cultural expression, and these shape how I connect with both students and people in general.
I offer flexible working hours and am available most days and evenings throughout the week. I am happy to tutor online or at the student’s home. I can provide support in English, Geography, Social Sciences, Literature, History, and Political Science, as well as basic math. I also enjoy incorporating arts and crafts into learning to spark creativity and make lessons more engaging.
Whether it is homework help, exam preparation, or encouraging creativity, I aim to make learning positive, inspiring, and enjoyable.
I’m Ella! I’m a McGill student majoring in Urban Studies (Geography) with double minors in Jewish Studies and Sociology. With strong research and writing skills, I can help with English, geography, social sciences, literature, history, cultural studies, political science, and basic math.
I’ve worked with children on and off since I was in high school and have lots of experience supporting my peers with essays, research, and understanding complex ideas. I believe learning goes both ways, and I learn just as much from the people I support as they learn from me. My style is creative and process-focused: I like to use mind maps, break tasks into clear steps, and make learning fun and confidence-building. I also have experience supporting people with ADHD, anxiety, and mood disorders, and I always adapt to everyone's unique needs.
