Taking care of him on my own has become more than I can physically and mentally cope with. I am seeking a diligent, caring, and experienced Senior/Health Care professional to assist with the daily living needs of my 90-year-old father. He is an English-speaking senior who also understands French. He uses a catheter and is hard of hearing. My father lives in a two-story house with basement in Vaudreuil-Dorion, which belongs to my sister who is his full-time caregiver. Your primary role will include keeping the house tidy, particularly the kitchen and bathroom, running errands such as pharmacy trips and medical appointments at the local CLSC, as well as managing other minor tasks that might interfere with my sister's full-time job. Occasionally, you might need to stay in the house during the day when my sister takes day trips to Ottawa. This part-time, live-out position offers the opportunity to become an integral part of a household of which the only other occupant is my sister. She manages her parents' healthcare issues while working full-time from her home office. Therefore, we highly value someone who can smoothly integrate into their lifestyle. This role requires a driver's license, as you may need to accompany my father to his appointments and assist him with occasional outings. You should be comfortable with a flexible schedule that includes morning shifts on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Mondays. Please be prepared to work fewer than 20 hours per week initially. Key responsibilities for this position include running errands, housekeeping, accompanying my father to appointments, and assisting with catheter care. Cleaning the bathroom and washing dishes by hand are also part of your duties. This role is a good fit for someone who is willing or has prior experience in working with individuals with hearing impairment and managing incontinence. Please note that while we provide the basic necessities required for your duties, having access to your own vehicle would be a significant advantage. We hope to fill this position between the 16th and 23rd of February, 2024. If you find this opportunity suitable, I request that you apply promptly.
