Part-Time • Live-Out

The successful candidate who we are looking to hire should be proficient in speaking English with complete fluency. This is important as he or she will be expected to communicate effectively and converse comfortably with my father. Given my father's keen love for cooking, the potential caregiver should also be open to assisting with light cooking activities. We will ensure that the hired individual will have separate accommodation provided, allowing the individual their private space and time off duty. An integral part of the prospective caregiver's role will involve caring for the dogs, which includes feeding them on a regular schedule. Moreover, the candidate is also expected to accompany my father on leisurely walks, fostering companionship and ensuring his safety at the same time. Additionally, the day-to-day responsibilities will also involve light housekeeping duties and taking care of the laundry. However, there is no need for concern about heavy-duty tasks such as rigorous cleaning or moving heavy items. We have a dedicated handyman living on the premises who is in charge of such tasks. Alongside that, we also engage cleaning ladies who visit on a weekly basis to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the accommodation. We would also like to mention that this role does not require the caregiver to give up their entire week. We fully understand the importance of personal time and for this reason, another caregiver is specifically responsible to cover during the weekends. This will ensure ample time-off for the successful candidate, giving them a well-deserved break from the weekday responsibilities.

Full-Time • Live-In

We are looking for someone WHO IS IN Canada and can start now or within the next week. They need to be at least 5'1" in height or taller and strong to help my son with walking and showering. I'm not sure what kind of job you are looking for but here is some information on my son. I just wanted to give you some information on my son and the job. My son is 30yrs old and has cerebral palsy. He occasionally will have seizures as well. He can't talk although he understands simple words. He hears very well and spends most of his day listening to music. He has about 40% eyesight. He requires help in all day to day activities which includes getting up in the morning, toileting, showers, eating and dressing. He is extremely nice and never violent. He likes giving hugs. He can walk with help and only weighs about 43kg. Our house is totally handicap accessible which makes things easier. There is also lots of laundry and house cleaning to do as part of the job. We have 2 caregivers who work for us. The one who has been with us for over 4 years is leaving as she now has gotten her PR card. We need a replacement for her right away. The 2 caregivers have a schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off. During the 7 days on, the work day is roughly from 8:15am to 9:15pm with time off between 2pm and 3:30pm when my son goes down for a rest. They like this schedule as they both have places in the city they go to during their 7 days off. When they are working they live at the house for 7 days and have their own rooms. Before that I had one caregiver who stayed here on her days off too which is fine. Each caregiver has their own room. Currently we pay $16.00 to $18.00 per hour depending on qualifications.
