I was born and raised in Vancouver and later moved to Kelowna with my husband, our daughter, and our dog. I currently work with School District 23 as an education assistant in an elementary school, where I support students in developing confidence and independence in their learning.
I am a patient, organized, and encouraging educator with a strong interest in supporting early literacy development. I am passionate about helping students build reading and writing skills by creating positive, supportive learning experiences that promote comprehension, confidence, and communication. I enjoy working one-on-one or in small groups to help students organize their ideas, strengthen literacy skills, and reach their learning goals.
In my spare time, I enjoy staying active through running and walking, spending time outdoors with my family, and reading, which supports my continued personal and professional growth.
I am a dedicated and compassionate support worker with over 10 years of experience working with children. I hold an Early Childhood Education diploma with Infant/Toddler and Special Needs certifications, as well as an Education Assistant certificate in British Columbia. I have a valid driver’s licence and my own reliable vehicle.
I particularly enjoy supporting early literacy development. I like to help children build confidence in reading, writing, and communication skills through patient, structured, and engaging learning support. I focus on breaking down tasks into manageable steps, reinforcing foundational literacy skills, and encouraging independent thinking.
I have experience supporting children who need help organizing ideas, initiating tasks, and staying focused during learning activities. I use clear instructions, repetition when needed, and positive encouragement to help children succeed. My approach is supportive and adaptable to each child’s learning style and developmental level.
I am passionate about fostering a love of learning while helping children strengthen literacy skills, including reading fluency, comprehension, and writing support. My goal is to provide a nurturing and motivating environment where children feel safe to ask questions, practice new skills, and build academic confidence.
