I am a compassionate, highly driven and caring individual, as well as very active, enjoying many activities including horse-riding, ballet, rock-climbing, hiking and paddleboarding. I am originally from the UK, born and raised in East Sussex, England and moved to Ontario, Canada in 2017 to join my Canadian husband. In 2021 we travelled to New Zealand, in which a one year visit turned into 2.5! We returned to Canada to beautiful BC and have enjoying the hikes, paddleboarding and community here. Recently my family and I went through the most difficult time where both our parents in their 60s ended up in care, and this as well as my 10 years experience has motivated me to help other families here in BC, while also understanding on a personal level the difficulties. I am a positive, compassionate and empathetic individual who loves people and supporting those from all walks of life. I am passionate about wellness through mediation, plant-based diet and grounding practices, as well as yoga, and nature therapy. With a trauma-informed background, I always work with a non-judgemental approach. My goal in the future is to become an Occupational Therapist and I have been taking short courses towards this goal. From 2013-2018 I have been predominatly an Early Childhood Educator, Community Support Worker, Residential Carer and Respite provider. Working with both children and adults with Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Foetal Alcohol and Lennox, Parkinsons, Dementia, Scitzophrenia and mental health. I have worked over 6 years in multiple group homes, Semi- independant Living and individuals homes . Support has included Personal Care, Recreational Activities, Companionship and Housekeeping/Shopping assistance. I have a degree in Outdoor Adventure Leadership and Management, and I am an avid hiker and lover of nature, so one of my passions has been helping people get out in the community more, and to be connected though various activities in the day. I would love to connect, do not hesitate to contact me if you feel I would be a suitable fit! Looking for a position from 25 Hourly.

My name is Maegan. I come from a close-knit, supportive family and have always valued strong connections and open communication. Growing up, my mom and I often cared for animals together, even bottle-feeding rescued kittens. This has helped shape my nurturing nature from a young age. In my free time, I love spending time outdoors, riding my pony, going for walks, and indulging in baking and cooking. I am someone who truly enjoys being outside! I'm reliable, patient, and a naturally gentle person. Often, I have been described as the most positive person ever! I find immense joy in caring for others and feel fulfilled when I help children feel seen, safe, and understood. Whether it is playing, learning, or simply listening, I aim to create a positive and supportive environment. While I don’t have formal care taking experience, I love working with people and am confident in my ability to provide a safe, caring, and positive environment. I’m extremely patient, calm under pressure, and very attentive to the needs of others. I’ve spent my whole life caring for animals of all types and ages, which has taught me responsibility, consistency, and compassion. These qualities I bring into all caregiving roles.

My name is Daisy, and love what I do. I have a strong interest in geriatrics, ALS, and couldn't imagine doing anything else. I have a Mennonite background, and spent my early childhood years in Paraguay, South America. I may have a heavy English accent but still speak Low German, and my standard German is *passable* at best! I entered University thinking I would become an RN. But life had other plans, and I found myself a very over qualified and experienced care aide. At first I felt this was a flaw, now I see I bring a competency and understanding to this field of work unparalleled with my peers. I adore pets in all shapes and sizes, and welcome pet care duties as well! I have no children of my own, and have always lovingly joked I didn't need them, my residents are my family and I have plenty! I have my own vehicle to assist others with errands etc, and live in Abbotsford within walking range of Mill Lake Park. Until his sudden passing last year, I was also my father's registered care aide through his WCB as he was an amputee with COPD, history of heart attack and stroke. He lived with my husband and I for the last 8 years, and the most rewarding aspect of my life has been giving him his lifelong wish, to stay as independent as possible in the community until his passing. Enrolled in the RN program at UFV from 2005-2008, was on the Dean's list during the last semester attended. Had to withdraw due to personal reasons. Have worked privately in homes and through home support services. Currently employed at Menno Hospital with experience in assisted living and full complex care. Worked with patients with complex end-stage ALS in the community, with training and experience in basic care, house cleaning, meal preparation duties, wound care, medication administration, tracheostomy, ostomy care, tube feeding, catheter care, oxygen therapy, etc. Own my own equipment to take basic vital signs. LPN exam challenged and certification received in 2010. Unfortunately due to family circumstance was not able to pursue employment and maintain liscence, liscence expired/lapsed in 2014. Current up to date licencing through BC care aide registry and first side.

With over 40 years of dedicated experience in caregiving through Fraser Health/Home Support, I bring a lifetime of compassionate, professional service to individuals and families in need. As I transition into semi-retirement this fall, I am seeking part-time opportunities where I can continue to provide the high standard of care I’m known for. I take pride in being reliable, attentive, and naturally cheerful. My positive energy helps uplift those I care for, encouraging them to maintain their sense of joy, dignity, and connection with the world around them. Families can feel confident knowing their loved one is in capable, trustworthy hands—and more importantly, cared for with genuine heart and respect. With over 40 years of dedicated experience as a Practical Nurse's Aide in the Lower Mainland, I bring a heart full of compassion, empathy, and genuine care to every individual I support. In recent years, my focus has been in palliative care—a deeply meaningful and fulfilling area where I’ve had the privilege of offering comfort, dignity, and presence to individuals and their families during life’s most tender moments. Providing this level of care is not just my profession, it’s my calling.
