My name is Hayley, I am 30 years old, married and originally from the UK.
I have worked within the hospitality and tourism industry for over 12 years. After finishing college, I decided I want to do a ski season. I studied travel & tourism. I completed my first season in Switzerland in 2011/12. Since then I fell in love with the mountains, the outdoor lifestyle and the people. I have thoroughly enjoyed working within the industry - especially meeting people from all walks of life, hearing about their stories, experiences and adventure's.
I have been fortunate enough to travel and work in a variety of countries from France, Italy, Bulgaria, Japan and Canada to name a few. This have given me a great insight to all different cultures - adapting easily to different lifestyles too. I have also been able to develop my skills and knowledge within the industry.
I have held a variety of job roles starting out as a hotel assistant in 2011 before becoming a housekeeping manager. Since then I went on to hold a variety of roles from campsite manager, chalet host/chef, lodge manager, resort manager and finally working within the private household industry.
I have worked within the private household industry for the last 3 years. I have worked for the same family, living in, carrying out a variety of duties. I was responsible for all food preparations – breakfast, lunch and dinner, ranging from 3 people up to 16, while accommodating all dietary requirements. I was also responsible for the cleanliness of both houses (each sleeping a maximum of 10 people), all the grounds – gardening, maintaining the pool area and general household duties such as food shopping, transfers to airports or appointments.
A key element to all of these jobs were the standard of cleanliness. The expectation was very high as it varied from personal homes to catered ski chalets to restaurants. Another key element was having great customer service, ensuring all clients were happy and satisfied with the service they had received.
I am a hardworking, reliable and trustworthy individual with the attention to detail. I am also super flexible.
My mains hobbies are skiing, biking, hiking, cooking, attending exercise classes and football. I also enjoy reading and a variety of crafts.
I have successfully ran catered ski chalets, catering for up to 22 people, cooking from 1 to 5 courses. I have also been a private cook for a family - cooking family style meals to dinner parties depending on requests. I am a confident cook and love to experiment with new recipes and flavours. I have also catered for a variety of dietary requirements and can plan a menu accordingly.
