A respected private client is seeking an experienced Personal Support Worker with a proactive and empathetic approach to elderly care. Since our senior assistance incorporates a deep understanding for personal preferences, personal care strategies are tailored to ensure the utmost comfort and satisfaction for our care recipient.
Your responsibilities would include providing delicate incontinence care: a holistic handling of this task is of utmost importance, focusing on reducing physical discomfort and mitigating any emotional distress our senior might feel. Furthermore, we need support for more sizable physical tasks such as lifting and positioning patients. You would also be responsible for lifting and transferring heavier patients, requiring experience and strength.
We offer an hour's worth of morning assistance for routines like breakfast and personal hygiene, as well as an evening routine inclusive of dinner assistance, medication administration and preparing for bed to ensure a comfortable close to the day.
As this role involves supporting the getting of a driver's license, extensive guidance is offered- both theoretical training and practical learning periods are a part of this. Hence, a valid driver's license is desirable, and the use of your own car may be required.
Working hours are less than 20 hours a week. The work schedule spans seven days - including both morning and evening shifts from Monday to Sunday.
This role is a Live-Out, part-time position, and the willingness to work with or possess existing experience dealing with decubitus ulcers, incontinence issues (diapers) and dementia would be valuable.
The ideal start date would be 19th April 2024. We look forward to working with a showcase PSW who carries out these tasks with the utmost respect and care.
