I'm Heather, a 51-year-old Hamilton resident and experienced caretaker with a specialty in special needs childcare. As mother to an autistic son, my passion for child care is deep-seated and has been enriched over my 39-year career. I am versatile, well-versed in special dietary rules, adept at housekeeping, cooking, running errands, and managing other staff. Despite specialising in care for one child at a time, I can create a stimulatory and safe environment for children aged 0 years old and up. Actively seeking part-time nanny, babysitter or mother's helper roles, I am particularly fond of outdoor activities and swimming. Although I lack a driver's license, I am able to travel for work. With a clean police record, fluency in English and a flexible schedule, I value ensuring peace of mind for parents. I am available to start from the 15th of May, 2024. I am also working on my first aid and CPR certification. I started babysitting at the age of 10 for our neighbors and have been looking after children off and on ever since then. I also have a child now who is almost five and autistic and I take care of him on a daily basis when he's not in school. I also have done a vulnerability check with the police and I am now working on my first aid and CPR which covers children as well.

I am a Mom to a 31 year old son, Cody and a daughter in law Emily. I spend a lot of my free time with my family and extended family. We are all very close and enjoy each others company immensely. I played Women's Hockey as a starting Goalie from the age of 6 into my early 20's at a high competitive level. I played for Team Ontario, Sheridan College and Team Canada as well. I travelled all over Canada, USA and Europe playing hockey. An experience of a lifetime for me I will cherish always. My son was also a high level Hockey and In-line Goalie. He played for Team Ontario, Team Canada and professionally for Pittsburg Steele as a summer job as starting Goaltender during University. (Not my plan to have him in net but the boy knew at the age of 2 he was going to be a goalie. So I became his #1 supporter and Goalie mom.) My daughter in law is a competitive hockey player as well. I have worked in Home Daycare, Preschool, and as a Nanny. I have cared for all ages but gravitate towards the early years. The early years are so important to build a strong foundation for on which to grow upon. I have cared for 5 children under 5 in my Home Daycare in the past for over 14 years. I have experience with twins. Comfortable with Newborns. I believe in outdoor activity daily that is age appropriate and a confidence booster. This gives children the opportunity try out and master new and challenging skills. Play based learning is my passion. Using imaginations and learning while we play. I talk about everything we see. Colours, letters, numbers, direction, senses, nature... Everything is a learning opportunity. I am a Nanny with 22 years experience caring for children 0 - 4 years old. I come with an up to date Vulnerable Sector Police Check, CPR-C and First Aid Certified (2022), amazing references and loads of love ❤ Open to household duties, pet care... Excellent swimmer Outside active play everyday Nap training Potty training Looking forward to hearing from you!! Lori Ann

I originally attended university with the intention of becoming a sociologist, but found working as a nanny suited my personality and life style better. I have a firm believe that it is my job is to compliment the philosophies put forth by the parents. I will maintain the routines and parenting styles that are used by the employer. I do enjoy being a part of helping a child reach their potential, but always in a way that is accepted by the parents. My personal interests are varied. I enjoy reading and crafts, as well as camping and hiking. I have been employed as a horseback riding instructor in the past and as a camp counsellor. I was a board member for the animal rescue group called Calgary Animal Rescue Society for 6 years. I am also involved in the service dog community, where I help people who are trying to train their own dogs. I also enjoy trying anything new though I am not a fan of high-risk activities. I would definitely describe myself as easy-going and generally nice. I am compassionate and gentle and seldom raise my voice. I have a firm moral code and an excellent work ethic. I interact exceedingly well with children of all temperaments and I do genuinely enjoy watching them learn about the world and mastering new skills. I also try to teach any children in my care some DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) skills. This leaves each child with a set of skills that can help them for the rest of their lives. These skills focus primarily on emotional regulation and interpersonal skills. Working as a nanny has taught me that patience is definitely one of my virtues and that every day will bring at least one surprise. I hope that I will be able to obtain a new position as a nanny as it is a job that I find entirely enjoyable. The first family I worked for had a boy aged 18m and a girl age 5, I took the girl to the bus stop every morning and then did a variety of activities with the little boy. We went to the local Ontario Early Years Center, story time at the local library and attended several drop in groups as well. At home we worked on age appropriate goals (colours, number alphabet ect). I helped the little girl with any homework and also attended the local Sparks group with her. In the house I was responsible for feeding the children and the dog as well as keeping the house tidy. I worked for this family for 2 years and have excellent reference from them. The second family I worked for had a little girl 18m. a boy age 5 and a second boy age 7. This family provided a family owned vehicle allowing me to drive the children to and from school. I also took the little girl to activities such as Mom and Me Swimming, gymnastics and story times. I prepared the children's meals, kept the house tidy and did the children's laundry. During the summer I took all 3 children to everything from soccer camp to day trips to local provincial parks. I also worked for this family for 2 years and also have excellent references. I have worked for 2 families with twins on a part-time or as-needed basis. Most of the care was kept strictly in the home or the surrounding area. It also included meal preparation and tidying up after the children. I have lost contact with the one family, but the second one will provided an excellent reference. Another family I have worked for in a long term basis was after school care for a set of 6y old triplets and their 9y old sibling. Most activities were done in the home area, but there was occasional outings. This job involved home work supervision and some limited dinner prep for the family. I also did the kids laundry. I have worked as an occasional sitter for a 10m old boy, a family with 2 young boys and one other family with four girls. It was simple child-care that was based in home and did not involve any additional responsibilities. I worked for a family where the wife was on maternity leave. I watched their identical twin boys for two half days and sometime two full days per week. The boys were four months when I started and were eleven months old when she returned to work. I was responsible for feeding the boys, changing diapers, putting them down for naps, and as they got older providing a stimulating environment for them. I enjoyed helping them to reach all of their milestones, and cannot believe that they went from helpless infants to active crawlers in such a short period of time. After working for the family where the wife was on Maternity Leave I was employed by a single father with 4 year old twins. I watched the boys for full days on M, W and every other Friday and provided before and after school care on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On non-school days I provided meals, took the boys to parks and activities and kept the house generally tidy. This job ended when the family moved due to a change in employment. After the position with single father ended, I took a position working full time as a nanny for a family with 3 boys (6 years old and 3 year old twins). I took the oldest boy to school and took the twins to various drop-in locations, activities and parks. I provided meals and do some light housekeeping. On occasion I provided evening care so the parents could go on 'date nights' or overnight care so they could have weekend trips. This position ended when the twins began school, and I decided to move to Alberta. After moving to Alberta from Ontario, I have only worked for one family. I was employed to work all day Friday and Sunday, with some occasional date nights. The family had a 4 year old girl and a 18 month boy. My responsibilities included transporting the children (in the family vehicle) to and from programs, and to take them out and about around Calgary. The family had season passes to both the zoo and to the science center. At the home I prepared the children's meals, maintained the napping schedule, created fun age appropriate activities, and did light housework. I worked for this family for around 2 years, and expect them to provide a positive reference. I left my last childcare position in order to provide care for my 2 elderly (80’s) parents, as their health was in decline. I have taken care of my parents for the last 3 years, which has kept me out of the workforce. I am now back in Ontario, and ready to seek part time employment in the field of childcare. I have my bachelors degrees in both Sociology and English, as well as a masters degree in Sociology. Additionally I have a clean CRC for vulnerable people, a variety of leadership programs offered through both Girl Guides of Canada and Scouts Canada. I have had my CPR/First Aid many times in the past, but it is currently expired (I am planning to re-certify). I am also open to obtaining any additional qualifications that an employer would like me to have acquired.

my name is Christina. I am a stay at home mom to a 2 year old boy. I have been caring for children for over 10 years prior to having a child of my own.
