To put it simply: the waitlists are long, and the list of people we trust with our children is short. I have personally faced a lot of anxiety thinking about dropping my child off to a daycare provider who is also responsible for 5 other children at once. What I am offering as a Nanny Mom is that your family would be my number one priority. I would cater specifically to your family’s work schedule and needs. Are you a shift worker or emergency on-call worker? I can accommodate early or late start times as long as your schedule is discussed in advance. BENEFITS OF A NANNY MOM Socialization – Without your child attending daycare, they will be missing out on building their socialization skills. Having a regular Nanny will only give them the social exposure to an adult, but a Nanny Mom will allow your child to learn social skills on a one-on-one basis. They will learn to communicate, cooperate, share, and resolve conflicts together. Less Exposure to Illness – Everyone knows that as soon as back-to-school season starts, so does Flu season. In daycare centers, young children come home with the flu, lice, and other illnesses on a weekly basis. Since our children will only be interacting with each other, this limits the spread of illness. Transition to School – With daycares often at their max capacity, it doesn’t create a realistic environment to prepare your child for school. In school, children aren’t able to have a “play-based” day every day. With only our two children present, a Nanny Mom can help set boundaries and teach things such as: hands to yourself, take turns, speak with an inside voice, and help your child understand that there is a time for play and a time for learning. WHAT I CAN PROVIDE FOR YOUR FAMILY - A schedule that is based on your work hours and needs - Care in your own home - Flexible daycare hours - A weekly schedule with planned activities - Daily updates on your child (and photos if requested) - Early learning (ABC’s, 123’s, colours, matching, reading, writing) - Homework help - Outdoor education (nature walks, discovery, scavenger hunts) - Field trips to the library, park, or a walk - Socialization between our two children - Less screen time - Healthy meals and meal prep - Light housekeeping: dishes, laundry, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming MY GOAL Ideally, I would like to come out and meet your family and take note of work schedules, day-to-day tasks, expectations, as well as you and your child’s interests in learning and play. I would then take this information and plan out a weekly schedule that fits your family so that there is a balance between learning and play throughout each day. I hope to grant the children a certain amount of “free time” each day so household tasks can be completed, such as: laundry, dishes, meal prep. My thought is, if I am helping you around the home each week and tidying up, this gives you so much less to do when you come home and gives you more time to relax and have family time. I am a very organized individual and can provide you with daily notes and photos of your child if this eases some anxiety for you. These notes can include things such as: nap times, meals, and behaviour changes throughout the day.
