I am an outgoing, fun-loving person who enjoys laughing and having a good time, but I am also strict when it comes to manners and behavior. I have always been able to strike a healthy balance with kids and know how to communicate with them effectively. I am extremely understanding and have always been someone children feel comfortable talking to, especially when something is bothering them. My 4-year-old granddaughter's favorite person is me, and she is mine; we are constantly playing and learning together. Coming from a family of teachers, teaching is second nature to me, especially with younger children. I have been babysitting since I was 12. I was a stay-at-home mom of two boys and also looked after babies and children. Now, as a 50-year-old grandmother of a 4-year-old, I have provided full-time and part-time care for her.

My name is Emiko. I was born and raised in Kawasaki, Japan, and I moved to Canada in April 2010. I am a warm, responsible, and experienced childcare provider who is passionate about supporting young children during their most important developmental years. I have over 15 years of experience as a nursery school teacher in Japan, as well as an additional 15 years working as a nanny and very grateful to have worked long-term with three families in Canada. I've cared for children ranging in age from newborns to eight years old, and I specialize in providing care for infants and toddlers. I also hold a Canadian Early Childhood Education (ECE) license. Working with children is something I am truly passionate about. I find great joy in watching them develop, grow and change. I fully understand how precious this stage in a child’s life is and how quickly it passes. I love spending time with children and assisting in their growth. The lessons they teach me are equally fulfilling. I am constantly in awe of their imagination and sense of wonder, and feel fortunate to be a part of their journeys. I believe that the most important aspects of matching a caregiver and a family are building a strong relationship, trust, and mutual respect. These factors greatly influence children and benefit them greatly. My number one priority is always the children. I make certain that they are well cared for, that appropriate boundaries are set, and that I am there to support them through all the ups and downs of each day. In my personal time, I enjoy the simple joys of life – good food (I consider enjoying food as one of my greatest talents :), cozy cafes, peaceful walks in nature, spending time with close friends, reading, and attending concerts of my favorite band! I will be traveling to Japan from early November to January, 2026, and will be available to start working from January 2026. I’m looking for a long-term part-time or full-time nanny position, 2 to 4 days a week (approx. 9 hours/day ), preferably caring for one infant or toddler to start. -What I Offer Safe, attentive, and nurturing care Age-appropriate play, routines, and developmental support Closely supervise, bathe, dress, feed and care for children Organize activities such as games and outings for children Assist children with personal hygiene and social development Prepare and service nutritious meals Discipline according to the methods requested by the parents Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding each child

I was an elementary school teacher in France for 26 years. I arrived in British Columbia just over three weeks ago. I would like to continue teaching or work with one or more children as a nanny, which is a role I can easily envision myself in. I have three children of my own, aged 22, 20, and 13. My two adult children are responsible young adults, and my teenage daughter, like her siblings, is filled with respect for her peers, her parents, her family, as well as for property, places, animals, etc. I cannot imagine raising my children any other way. As a teacher, I know how to earn respect while also being loved by my students. This is something I hold dear; I believe it is important not to confuse kindness with leniency. It is essential to provide a child with a great deal of well-being and confidence, and this is achieved by setting boundaries. A child who has no understanding of frustration is an unhappy child. Therefore, whether with my own children or with my students, I have always found the right balance to help them flourish and become wonderful individuals. In the case of my students, it also meant making them happy to see me every morning. I look forward to meeting you. I arrived from France a little over three weeks ago. For 26 years, I worked as an elementary school teacher in France. Today, I would like either to continue teaching or to work with children, but in a different setting. During these 26 years, I taught children aged three to eleven. I also worked for two years with children aged twelve to sixteen who had severe psychological disorders. Being a nanny could be a great way to build a strong bond with a child and their family. You can also speak French in addition to English, which can be an added benefit in the child's daily, playful learning experience. I have three children of my own, aged 22, 20, and 13. Best regards, Maud

I’m a part-time teacher and writer. I used to work as a nanny and teacher all over the world. Currently, I work at KPU and in Adult Education, so I miss my little students. I’m looking to do some weekend babysitting. I have a car and a perfect driving record. I have an old dog who loves kids, so if yours like pets, I can bring her along, or not. I love to read, do crafts, go on park adventures, and beach-combing kids, or whatever they’re into (model planes? Building brains and labeling them? Yep, done it all..) I live a block from English Bay, so I can come to your place or you can come to mine if you like. Whatever is convenient for you. My mom also lives close by. She had a family daycare when my sister and I were little and loves kids, so you’d get a great "grandma" sitter too, lol. I’ve been babysitting since I was 9, as my sister is 7 years younger than me. Then I was the neighbourhood babysitter from 11-17. I lived most of my 20s families, in Maui, and Vancouver. I became a teacher, and taught primary-high school in Seoul, Cambodia, Arctic Canada. I’ve mostly hung out my friends’ kids recently vs paid babysitting, so aside from my professional references, I can give you their numbers too for them to comment on how I am little ones. (NB: my first aide hasn’t been updated because of covid times not offering classes, but I’ve taken it several times)

I am a Filipina, who has been working as a nanny for over 20 years. I worked in Singapore in the year 2000 taking care of 2 girls ages 2. 5 & 4 months. I worked with them for 1 year and 6 months. When my father died, I decided to go back home to Philippines. After this, I went to Hongkong to work with a family that has no kids but 7 dogs. After I finished my 2 year contract with them, I work for a different family that has 2 boys ages 11 & 16 years old. I came to Canada in November 2007 to work with a family of 4 in West Van taking care of 2 kids ages 4 & 2. 5 years old. I worked for them for 5 months & unfortunately they moved to North Carolina. So then I started working with my current employer, taking care of 3 kids (1 boy & 2 girls). When I started working with them the kids were aged 4, 2 & 9 months. I have been with them for almost 5 years. After that I worked part time and shared nanny with different families with 2-3 kids. I have a lot of experiences taking care of children ages from 9 months to 9 years old. I love being with kids and having fun with them. I like the outdoor activities or staying inside and making some arts & crafts on rainy days. I can provide good references. I have been working as a nanny for over 25 years. In the year 2000, I went to Singapore to take care of 2 children ages 2 and 10 months. After that, I moved to Hong Kong to care for children ages 15 and 11. In September 2007, I came to Canada and worked in West Vancouver for 5 months, looking after 2 kids. Unfortunately, they decided to move to North Carolina. I found a new employer in East Vancouver and have been working with them for almost 5 years. They have 3 children ages 4, 2, and 9 months. As the kids grew older, my current employer decided they no longer needed a full-time nanny, so I am looking for a new position. I then worked as a part-time nanny for 2 days a week in Kitsilano with a boy and a girl, both 9 months old until they turned 2. Currently, I am working 3 days a week for a family in downtown Vancouver with 2 children, a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy. However, I will only be with them until December 23, 2015, as the mother has decided to work part-time to spend more time with her children. My other 2 days are spent as a share nanny in Kitsilano with 3 different families, caring for kids aged 3, 2, and 1.5. I am seeking a long-term position with a family and look forward to hearing from you soon. I am moving to Campbell River at the end of August. Hoping to find a great family to work with.

Hello, My friends call me Barbie, I am single (by choice), I live in the West End near English Bay. I am a healthy active 59 year old. I live a very simply, minimal life. I am a natural caregiver, I would love to help take the stress out of your life. My talents are multi facet. I am organized, creative, a positive personality with lots of energy. I have been cleaning, cooking and baking since I was 10 years old. While working at a large corporation (I just retired after 24.5 years) I also worked part time at high end B&B in the West End that had 8 rooms and a 16 guest capacity. It was while working there that I found my true talent, looking after others. I was a live in manager, my duties included everything, admin, customer service, baking, cooking, cleaning, gardening, organizing etc. I recently retired from the B&B. I am now interested in finding a new family to help and put my talents to use. I love kids, I raised my own ADHD daughter (without meds), I am a born caregiver and love to look after people. I don't have formal childcare training/certification, but transferrable skills in that area. I worked for 24.5 years in the field of insurance, I have CIP designation and ACS designation. I may not have childcare certification, but I certainly have transferrable skills learned as a single parent raising an ADHD child. I have been looking after children since I was 10 years old.
