Hi, my name is Ming and I am a part time student and food service worker who is looking for an extra summer job! I was born and raised in North Burnaby, where I still reside with my parents. I come from a multicultural background, and a fact that tends to surprise people is that I am fluent in German. My hobbies include, cross country skiing, hiking, baking, and crocheting. The beginning of my university journey has allowed me to discover my interest in sociology, which I might chose as my major. I also enjoy listening to a wide variety of musicians, thrifting with friends, and spending quality time with my family. I started babysitting at 11 years old. Growing up while also caring for children who were younger than me has shaped me into a responsible young adult. In a way I grew up alongside some of the children I babysat. I am aware that every child is different and has different needs which I adapt to. In the past I have taken care of a child with ADHD and a child who was deaf. I don't view these characteristics as hurdles, instead I figured out how to adapt my babysitting style so that it would fit with their needs. I tend to match the energy of the children I babysit while we are outside playing soccer, inside doing arts and crafts, or doing any other fun activity. But I still enforce clear boundaries in a kind yet firm way. These experiences have allowed me to gain skills that have aided me in my other jobs as well. During the pandemic I worked at Mcdonalds. And for the last 2 years I have been working at a little restaurant in Kitsilano called Gobble. I have been babysitting for around five years on and off since I completed my First Aid Babysitter course at 11 years old. There were two families who provided me with steady employment for 1-2 years before the pandemic. One of them required my services twice a week for afterschool care. They had three boys who were 4 and 6 when I started caring for them (the younger ones were twins). I would provide them with an afterschool snack, play soccer with them in the yard, and manage tantrums that the twins would sometimes encounter. The second family hired me every other week during the evenings to take care of their two daughters who were 3 and 9 at the time. I would give them their dinner, do the dishes, get them ready for bed, and tuck them in. Unfortunately due to the pandemic I had to stop providing care for these families to try and help keep them, and my own family healthy. I am currently working to get an associates degree at Capilano University.

I'm Karma, a Vancouver-based 20-year old passionate about childcare, seeking a part-time child-minding job. Though I lack professional nanny experience, my maternal instincts assure me of my capabilities in creating a nurturing and safe atmosphere conducive for children's growth. I'm available Monday to Thursday and Saturdays, for babysitting, home daycare, mother's helper, housekeeping tasks, and more. I've a high school diploma and a bachelor's degree, enabling me to manage errands, cooking, light cleaning, and overall child management tasks with ease. My services can extend to children with disabilities and my preference leans towards caring for a maximum of two children. Despite lacking a driver's license and advanced swimming skills, my non-smoking habit works in my favor. My communication skills permit me to interact effectively with children of various development stages. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Nepalese, I can facilitate multicultural exposure for the kids in my care. Even though I am yet to undergo a police check, I assure sincere and dedicated service as a caregiver. As a mother and an aspiring childcare professional, I eagerly await the opportunity to assist families in caring for their children, fostering a nurturing environment conducive for their growth. I don’t have any work experience as I’m new to Canada but I use to do babysitting back in my hometown. And on top of that I have my three younger siblings so I do know a lot about this job as well as how to take care of the baby.
