Greetings! I am Kityu (you can call me Kate), a dedicated and committed private tutor, originally from Hong Kong, eager to share my multicultural and diverse linguistic experiences. Currently residing in Burnaby, I seamlessly blend my understanding and appreciation of language with a passion for education that is backed by 4 years of working experience.
Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English, I have a deep affinity for languages that enhances my ability to communicate effectively. My strong work ethic stems from my upbringing in Hong Kong which, along with my unwavering patience, empathy, and compassion, elevates my teaching abilities. My family who has always supported and motivated my career choices, is a prime catalyst for my endeavours in the educational sector.
Apart from teaching, my interests span across literature, culture exploration through travel and outdoor activities like hiking and swimming. Math intrigues me unquestionably, and I often find myself engrossed in challenging problem-solving exercises.
I am comfortable working with trainees of all ages, starting from tots aged 3-5 to teens and adults. My education, up to Bachelor's degree coupled with specialized skills, allows me to cater to children with special needs while preparing primary school pupils for their exams. I teach English and Math, though I believe in customizing my styles and strategies as per individual requirements, fostering an environment where students feel motivated to learn and grow.
I am available for tutoring sessions throughout the week, with flexible hours to accommodate late-night study requirements. My preferred places for work include my home, the employer’s home or online, preventing relocation and travel.
Being smokeless and having a driving license further streamlines my interactions with learners and their families. Although I don't have a police check currently, I’m a law-abiding Chinese citizen awaiting the opportunity to start immediately, to be an effective contributor to your child’s academic growth and success.
