My full name is Sarah , my family is Haitian-Canadian-American. Both parents in the healthcare industry, my father a gastrointestinal surgeon and my mother a nurse and mental health worker. I myself have a CPR certificate. I have lived in Abbotsford for 6+ years. I have just wrapped up a diploma in business and am currently writing a novel, which is quite the 180. I love, love to read. I love watching kids movies with my youngest brothers. I listen to music everyday if I can help it. Very often I've been told that I am soft-spoken and quiet. I tend to do a lot more listening than talking. I love connecting with people and I think children are the best of us so while caring for them can be taxing and testing, it's extremely rewarding. And it brings me genuine joy. I have babysat and house sat for many families outside of my own, I appreciate getting to know each home and each kid individually. It helps me understand them, know what they like and dislike, and most importantly know how to communicate with them. I have not had experience caring for newborns, but once they reach 18 months, 24 months, is when I feel most comfortable caring for them. I am 20 years old and the eldest of 5, my youngest sibling is 6. I have cared for my own siblings more times than I can count. Changed diapers, given baths, warmed bottles, handled tantrums more times than I can count. One thing I can confidently take away is that each child is so different, and so my approaches to caring for them should adjust accordingly. There is always a learning curve in a way, with a new child I've never met and who's never met me. But I look forward to that process.
