I am a 24-year-old woman born and raised in the capital city of Barcelona. I am very outdoorsy and love doing sports like skiing, swimming, and cycling. A few months ago, after completing my degree in Environmental Science, I decided to move to Canada to gain experience abroad and look for a job. I started taking care of my little cousins when I was very young. I would pick them up from school, make snacks, and take them to play in the park, and then we would go home. After that, I had a few babysitters in the neighborhood and had more or less the same responsibilities. When I was 20 years old, I did an au pair experience in France where I lived in the family house and was responsible for 6-year-old twins from the moment they woke up until they went to sleep. Lastly, when I was at university, I had a part-time job in a school where I was the assistant to the main teacher in a nursery school.

I’m Sibiyah! I’m originally from the UK and staying in Canada on a working holiday visa with my partner, Adam. I’m so excited to be here and meet new people :) As a nanny or babysitter, I bring a blend of confidence, self-discipline and empathy to my work. I believe in creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel supported, whether they need someone to be silly and play games with or a firm but kind role model. I’m happy to show discipline when needed but always strive to do so with fairness and understanding. I’m chatty, motivated and enjoy building strong connections with families. Fun and creativity are at the heart of everything I do, from singing along to Disney songs to organising activities that spark imagination and laughter. Some of the activities I enjoy doing in my free time are reading, drawing, walking in nature, cooking, puzzles and board games, watching films, church and spending time with friends. I’m hoping to be able to feel part of a family, as someone you trust and can rely on. During my early teenage years, I supported local families (usually friends of my mum) who needed someone to occasionally babysit. This involved making dinner for myself and the children, bathing them and helping them to get ready for bed. Depending on their temperament, this involved singing songs or reading stories (I love reading stories out loud!) The children were usually under the age of 10. The youngest child I’ve worked with was less than a year old. During my early twenties, I lived in France for 6 months and in Spain for 3 months and worked with a couple of families, tutoring English to their children or just playing games with them. I love to be silly and have fun! These children were aged between 9 to 13. One sweet girl I worked with had severe autism and I volunteered with a charity for adults with developmental difficulties so have some experience working with disabilities. My mum ran a lot of youth activities in the church and I frequently supported her with mentoring them as well as planning activities. I’d consider myself very empathetic and good at connecting with young people.

My name is Lewis, and I am 18 years old and in my first year at the University of Calgary working towards my Bachelor of Music degree. I moved to Calgary this fall from Chilliwack, BC, but I spent a few years living in Calgary when I was in elementary school. I have been described as responsible and organized by my past employers and teachers, and I do my best to work hard when I am assigned a task. I greatly value keeping things clean and organized, though I am not afraid to get my hands dirty and I am not grossed out easily. I enjoy making plans and schedules, and I get a great sense of accomplishment from completing a task as meticulously as I am able. As I recently worked as a swim instructor, I am certified in CPR-C and Standard First Aid. Both certificates are currently valid. I have my BC novice driver's license, but as I am a student who lives on campus I do not currently have my own vehicle; however, I am a consistent user of public transit, so if needed I will be happy to accompany children on busses and trains, or run errands. I believe myself to be very competent at housekeeping duties, such as cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and taking care of pets, as I love animals and grew up with a very mischievous golden retriever. In my roles working with children, I have enjoyed interacting with them and helping them learn and grow as people. Children’s safety and developmental growth is incredibly important to me, and I greatly value being part of a community and taking on the role of helping parents and families. I hope to be of value to young families and use my skills to lighten the load of parents and enrich childrens’ lives. My most recent and pertinent role has been my 15 months of experience working primarily with preschool and school-aged children through the YMCA of Greater Vancouver as a swim instructor. I learned to prioritize the safety and comfort of the swimmers, and I found it incredibly important and meaningful to build relationships with the children and be a compassionate and understanding presence within the lessons. I had the responsibility of looking after children and putting them into new situations. I was trusted by parents and my employer to keep them safe and teach criteria in an appropriate and attentive manner. During this position, I discovered my affinity for detail orientation and interest in interacting with children. I had to resign from my role at the YMCA to pursue my studies at the University of Calgary, where I am currently living in residence. I hope to resume work in order to continue helping children and families.

Babysitter with 26+ Years of Experience in Childcare – Available Evenings & Weekends! I’m Edanna, a 38-year-old childcare professional with a lifelong passion for working with kids and over 26 years of hands-on experience. While I work full-time at a hospital during the weekdays, I’m excited to offer my services in the evenings and weekends to bring joy, safety, and fun activities to your family. From assisting at my younger brother’s preschool and babysitting in my neighborhood to being a full-time nanny for three wonderful boys, a caregiver for a delightful special needs girl, and a mother’s helper while completing my EMT-A, my experiences have cemented my dedication to childcare. I’m comfortable with children of all ages, including those with special needs, and am happy to care for groups of four or more. Known as “Auntdanna” to many kids in my circle, I bring warmth, creativity, and a calm approach to each family I work with. I am happy to assist with cooking, meal preparation, light housekeeping, children’s laundry, and school homework, as well as pet care if needed. Certified in First Aid and CPR, I prioritize safety and security in all of my care practices. I also come highly recommended, with excellent references available upon request. If you’re looking for a live-out babysitter, mother’s helper, or nanny for evenings and weekends, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to meeting you and creating wonderful memories with your family! I have always had a passion for childcare. I started by helping out at my little brother's preschool, babysitting neighborhood children, and volunteering at YMCA day camps throughout junior high. Later on, I worked as a full-time nanny for three wonderful boys, a caregiver for a girl with special needs, and, while completing my EMT-A certification, I also served as a mother's helper for several deserving moms. I still regularly babysit and make an effort to maintain my reputation as Fun Aunt Danna to the many children of my friends and family.

I am a person who thrives on structure and novelty at the same time. With these attributes I can assure that your kids will be engaged and entertained when with me. I value the opinions and feelings of everyone but especially children. Children being unheard just leads to mistrust and resentment. When planning activities or outings, their input will always be considered. I love music, some video games, spending time with my two cats (Luna and Diego), and when the air quality isn’t too high some hiking and camping as well. I’m comfortable around all pets, although I’ve only ever taken care of cats, dogs and fish - not to say I wouldn’t learn how to care for others. I’m a fast learner so anything new I can learn almost immediately. Most of my family lives back home in Ontario. I’ve moved here with my partner and our cats because she’s taking on her Masters Degree at the University of Calgary. I’ve followed to support and enjoy the adventure. My family, like all, had its ups and downs but my parents were always together and I got to grow up with my siblings which is rare when you’re adopted (we share a biological mother). I’ve learned how to cope with the conflicts and the triumphs of siblinghood and family life including the complexities that accompany adoption and separation. I believe this has made me exactly the person people need when they feel lost, confused and need support. On the other side, I know how big small victories can feel when life isn’t tipping in your favour so I will rejoice with your children when they win and be someone to lean on when they don’t. My perspective is always changing as I grow to allow myself to better help others and children, of course, navigate life in a healthy way. I will be a trusted source of comfort for anyone who feels there is no one else and my family has taught me how important that is. I’ve been an elementary school teacher since 2021. I have a specialization in ECE and Music from my post secondary education. My daily tasks and routines as a classroom teacher gives me skills in organization, conflict management, multitasking, relationship building, professionalism and many other qualities that are necessary to care for children. I’ve had experience caring for infants as well including diaper changes and feeding and am very comfortable with these tasks. I have been a trusted and seeked out babysitter among my family and friends since their kids always have a blast. I can also tutor in all subjects as I typically am teaching them all to 25+ students at once. Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Music Bachelor of Education, Specialization in ECE
