I am a 43-year-old woman with a passion for pretty much everything, leading to my diverse background. I have been traveling since I was 19 years old. My first job abroad was as a nanny for a family with three children: a 9-year-old (early teenager), a hyperactive 7-year-old boy, and a 4-month-old baby boy. I lived in Switzerland with them for six months, caring for them as much as possible. They became like family to me. I lived with them, traveled with them... It wasn't always easy, but it was a beautiful, eye-opening experience. The world was no longer just about me, but also about theirs, and what was best for them. It was not only my responsibility to care for them, but also to make them feel safe, heard, loved, and understood. This experience taught me empathy, selflessness, and patience. Although leaving them was part of my job, we kept in touch through postal cards and emails, and remained friends.
After those 6 months, I returned home and have since worked in various fields, all of which reflect my determination to make the best of any situation. I can adapt, learn, and most importantly, I strive to see a smile of satisfaction on the faces of those I work with. As long as my work aligns with my core values, I give my all. I have worked extensively in customer service, including roles in restaurants, retail, hair salon management, and hotel front desk management. It is crucial not only to understand how to satisfy customers, but also how to build and strengthen a team through leadership and accountability.
When Covid-19 hit, it was a sign for me to return to my first love. I was hired as a nanny once again, this time for a 21-month-old baby, while the parents were working from home. I managed both the household and baby care. Despite different cultures and backgrounds, we were able to make it work beautifully, and to this day, I remain close friends with the family. The baby boy, now 5 years old, still visits me occasionally, and I visit them with joy and love, bringing little presents and activities.
My name is Vivianne and I believe I can be the perfect help and addition to your family.
So here, let me introduce myself just a little bit, and let you know some more about me.
I’ve been a babysitter for as long as I can remember. This sense of devotion, the bond I can create with a family, the trust they were having in me felt so rewarding…. This led me to becoming a nanny. It helped me grow friendships and long term relationships with the families I was working for… it then led me to travel and connect with different cultures… Therefore, my ability to adapt as a Nanny to a new household, my caring and empathic sides and my will to build a sense of trust between both the child and the parents (It is all about communication and teamwork), transformed my work into a blessing, where I was myself, learning and growing everyday. In Switzerland, I was 19, and my first AU PAIR opportunity during 6 months, for a family of 3. In Canada, it was while in Toronto, working for a Pakistanis family during
Covid for approximately 6 months as well. I remained good friends with both families to this day. Throughout my experiences, I realized that entering a home and becoming a member of the family is an emotional, fulfilling and beautiful experience. Assisting in the relief of parental stress, connecting with the children creating a bond of trust, a manageable schedule, a creative routine and adhering to a cultural timeline resulted in proving my personal adaptability to any work environment. From the age of 21 months to 11 years old, the opportunity to work with any age group was not only such a great learning experience, it was mostly very rewarding.
