My name is Dherlyn, I’m currently in school for Practical Nursing and I’m now in my Term 3 (out of 4) of the program. I’ve completed multiple clinical/practicum placements in senior care homes, and honestly, it’s been such an eye opening and rewarding experience for me. Coming from little to no healthcare background before starting school, I’ve learned so much about providing care. During my clinicals, I was assigned to different residents but was never limited to just them, so I was able to interact and help care for many residents throughout the unit and it gave me a broader understanding of different personalities, their conditions and routines. I’m also soon to be HCA certified through my program and continuously learning more skills as I progress through nursing school. With proper guidance, orientation, and communication, I’m confident in being able to help support your loved one’s needs while also continuing to grow my experience. A little about me outside of healthcare… I’m 25 years old and before nursing school, I worked as a Fire Extinguisher Technician for about 5 years starting in 2020. Although it was stable and paid well, I realized I was craving more growth and wanted to do something more meaningful and fulfilling, which is what led me into nursing. I’ve always been very empathetic and caring toward other people, which is honestly one of the reasons why nursing wasn’t originally something I thought I could do 😅 I tend to feel deeply for others and sometimes care a little too much LOL, but school and clinicals have really helped me learn how to balance compassion while still staying professional. I’ve also been told I’m very friendly and energetic haha. I laugh a lot (sometimes even during normal conversations because I get awkward or too comfortable 😭), but I genuinely enjoy connecting with people and making others feel comfortable around me. I used to play volleyball all the time before school took over my life LOL, but I still try to make time for it when I can. Schedule: I usually have school Monday-Friday 8am-1pm, but my availability can vary depending on clinicals, exams, or placements. Other than that, I’m generally flexible and always open to discussing schedules in advance! If you’d like to know more or think I may be a good fit for your family or loved one, feel free to message me anytime <3 practical nursing student.. Currently in school for Practical Nursing, Term 3.

I also help a friend in a wheelchair once a week with numerous needs. I grew up helping special needs, and being paired with them in every school I went to. Spent all my spare blocks with them. I love working with elderly people, special needs, children (even troubled), and animals. I have a huge heart. And although I've never been certified in these fields, I have plenty of experience in Housekeeping, meal prep, bathing, personal shopping. And most of all companionship.

I am a dedicated, friendly, and patient person who values kindness, compassion and hard work. I am eager to get to know you better. I am a Filipino who was raised in Ladner, and grew up with my parents, an older brother, a younger sister, and younger brother. We were a Catholic family. Following my high school graduation in Tsawwassen, I began working in various jobs as a bus attendant, retail associate, cashier, and nanny before deciding to return to school. For a few years, I had to balance three jobs while enrolled in a part-time general studies program at Douglas College. When the child I was nannying began pre-school, I transitioned to full-time studies in Early Childhood Education, all while maintaining my other two jobs. After graduating and working for a year in a daycare, I got married and relocated to Edmonton, where my husband found work in his field. I secured a position at the University Infant Toddler Centre in Edmonton and worked there until I reached my third trimester of pregnancy. I took a year off work to care for my son and then returned to work in a different daycare. Within three months, I advanced to the position of Toddler Supervisor, a role I enjoyed immensely. My son also attended the same daycare. Eventually, we moved back to Vancouver, and now the whole family resides in the Lower Mainland, just a short 30-minute drive away. While my eldest son was in pre-school, I worked in the infant room at a daycare in Burnaby. This was followed by relocating to New Westminster because we purchased a condo there, which coincided with my second pregnancy. We decided that I would stay home to raise our sons, given my background and love for family. While my sons were in school I was active in the community such as parent groups and volunteering at their school. I've been a single mother to my two sons, who are now aged 15 and 22. Over the past decade, I've taken up one new activity each year such as swimming, boxing, hiking, indoor and outdoor climbing. Now my hobbies consist of walking, gardening, sewing, and making miniature models. I also love animals and undertake dog-sitting duties once or twice a month. So, if you have a pet, they'll be in good hands with me as my building doesn't allow pets. I have had rewarding career as an Early Childhood Educator and the privilege of being attached to reputable daycare centres both in British Columbia and Alberta. Here I have grown both personally and professionally. When my youngest son embarked on their journey into kindergarten, I seized the opportunity to become a full-time student at Douglas College and enrolled in the Classroom and Community Support Program to equip myself with the abilities and knowledge required assist and support all ages. My recent and notable experiences in adult service care was serving as a companion and assistant to an 89 year old lady. She required assistance with various daily tasks, especially when it was time to transfer in and out of her wheelchair. Some of these tasks included getting into my car or moving onto a chair for lunchtime. She also required assistance with personal hygiene tasks, such as using the restroom, which indeed involved changing her diaper. In addition to aiding her with these tasks, she and I would spend one afternoon each week doing several activities together for her convenience and leisure. This included running errands, visiting the mall to enjoy a meal, tiding her room and taking care of her laundry. I was also instrumental in assisting her with technical tasks, such as handling her tablet and cell phone. I recall her fondly with the sense of connection we built over a short time. It was a heartwarming experience hearing her share stories from her youth, as well as her experiences as a mother and getting to know her on a deeper level. Given my experience and skills, I believe I may be a suitable match for anyone in need of assistance. Feel free to reach out and contact me at the following phone numbers: or. Let's have a conversation to determine if I am the right person for you.

I am a positive, warm, and reliable person with strong educational and professional experience. I hold a Master’s degree in Economics and have a background in pharmaceutical studies, which helps me stay organized, detail-oriented, and confident when supporting people with their daily needs. I have experience caring for seniors both in my home country and here in Canada, where I assisted with daily routines, companionship, light mobility support, meal preparation, and creating a safe, comfortable environment. I truly enjoy being a companion, offering emotional support, meaningful conversation, and a calm, friendly presence. I value kindness, respect, and dignity, and I am looking to work with clients who are stable, mobile, and in need of assistance or companionship rather than complex medical or end-of-life care. As a person, I am friendly, compassionate, patient, and attentive. I love walking, staying active, cooking simple healthy meals, and bringing a positive atmosphere into the home. I take pride in being dependable, honest, and easy to communicate with. I would be happy to support a family or individual who is looking for someone caring, responsible, and uplifting. I have over two years of paid and hands-on experience providing care and support for seniors. In my home country, I assisted elderly family members and neighbors with daily living activities, companionship, mobility support, medication reminders, and creating a safe, comfortable environment. This gave me strong practical skills and a deep understanding of the needs of seniors. After moving to Canada, I worked with a caregiving company where I supported senior clients with personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, emotional support, and safe mobility. I am patient, compassionate, reliable, and always focused on dignity and respect. Caring for seniors is something I genuinely enjoy, and I take pride in helping people feel safe, valued, and independent. I have a strong educational background that helps me provide responsible, organized, and professional care. I hold a Master’s degree in Economics, which strengthened my analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage tasks efficiently. In addition, I completed a pharmacy-related education, which gave me a solid understanding of medications, safety, health procedures, and working with people in sensitive situations. This knowledge helps me support seniors, follow safety guidelines, and communicate clearly with clients and families. My education, combined with my caregiving experience, allows me to provide compassionate and reliable support while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
