Faith R.
My name is Faith and I am a 22-year-old from Toronto. I am an experienced and dedicated babysitter with a passion for providing exceptional care to children. With 5 years of experience in childcare, I am well-equipped to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive. For 4 years I worked as a camp counsellor at Onondaga Camp where I learned the importance of patience, adaptability, and creativity when working with children of diverse backgrounds and personalities. I understand the importance of building trusting relationships with both children and parents, and I am committed to fostering open communication and collaboration within the family. Outside of my professional and school life, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, going on hikes and walks, and participating in creative activities such as knitting and crocheting which I recently learned. I am to receive my Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies (Geography) by the end of April which has instilled an ongoing curiosity in me that I hope I can encourage in others. I am compassionate, reliable and energetic. I approach my role as a caretaker with empathy and understanding, always considering the individual needs and preferences of each child. Parents can trust that I will consistently show up on time and be ready to provide reliable and attentive care to their children. I am also an active and energetic individual who enjoys participating in activities that promote physical activity and outdoor play. I bring a strong work ethic and a positive attitude to every role I take on and I look forward to furthering my dedication to children's well-being.
I worked at Onondaga Summer Camp from 2018-2022, where I first was a leader in training and then a counsellor. Both roles main responsibility was caring for children between the ages of 4-14. Other main responsibilities included organizing activities and events that were suitable for a wide range of ages, maintaining camper's well-being and safety by upholding the camp’s guidelines and lastly, providing appropriate support to different behavioural challenges amongst campers. In 2017-2018 I worked as a babysitter for a family with two-year-old twins. My responsibilities included establishing and enforcing bedtime routines, maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the household, including laundry, dishes, and general tidying and providing attentive care for children, ensuring their safety and health at all times.
