My name is Khadija, I am a 19 year old girl from Mali (West Africa). I am in my second year of study at TMU for Public Health. My current job is a pottery instructor, however I also instruct other art forms such as mosaics, canvas painting and pottery painting at Artventures. I have always been responsible for my younger sibling growing up, my mother would give me tasks such as changing my siblings diapers ever since they were newborns to packing their lunch and bathing them once they started school. In highschool I volunteered in after-school care and was responsible of monitoring children from all age groups and serving everyone snacks. Working as a camp counselor has been my favourite job by far. I worked as a counselor in summer 2022 and 2023 and was nominated for the leadership award. At camp I would be assigned 10 kids every week and was in charge of programming and facilitating activities for my campers. There have been instances where conflicts or other complication would occur but I have always been able to stay calm and face the problem head on. My campers loved me and I loved my campers, camp truly is my most memorable job.
