Hello parents and caregivers! I am Hayan and I am the one you have been looking for. I am an enthusiastic positive thoughtful soul who loves working with children, connecting and partnering with families to bring quality care and enjoyable teamwork. I am a Canadian-Korean, born in S. Korea but grew up in Victoria. My family moved from Korea when I was 9 years old. We first lived in Montreal, where I learned French and came to Victoria after graduating elementary there! I am happily married since 2016, I love everything crafts and fine arts, love to sing, play piano, go for long nature walks, meet people and exercise! I am naturally open, caring, understanding, generous, and compassionate person. I believe my main goal as an caregiver is to bring out the best in the children, to build up their self-esteem, to support their needs and help them grow to be a confident independent caring individual. I am an educator who strives to meet the child’s needs by using a strengths-based approach. Because strengths-based practice focuses on empowerment, the capability of the child and awakening the child's virtues. It's a powerful and positive approach. Every child has clearly distinctive temperament through genetical and environmental influences and so it is important to partner and connect with their families. I believe knowing the child's microsystems is crucial because the child's development and behaviour are best understood by examining the context of the child's immediate influence. Forming a relationship with their parents/ legal guardians helps me to learn the child's culture, customs, values and the different environmental factors that determine the child's way of processing information, expressing feelings, and of behaving. Another crucial fact of having a close relationship with the legal guardians is that it builds trust. The parents can feel relieved and happy that their child is in good hands, they are loved and genuinely cared for. I am a strong believer that I am here to serve everybody, to bring quality service and spread positivity and love. Count me in !

I have been in childcare field for 10 years now. I have 4 years experience with infant and toddlers, and 6 professional years with preschoolers. I have about 18 years of working with children from 1 to 18 years of age! I can teach preschoolers piano and French and Korean ! Let me show you!
