Yrs Experience

I grew up in Victoria and continue to enjoy life on the west coast. I love surfing, hiking, swimming, camping, and exploring outdoors in general. I am also an avid reader and passionate about fostering a love of learning in kids. While I have lived with a chronic illness the majority of my life (Crohn's disease) I consider myself very outgoing, energetic and friendly. Patience and flexibility are also strengths for me. I love working with kids and building positive relationships with each student I work with.

I have been tutoring since I started the Education program at UVic in 2016. My experience is primarily working with students with learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, anxiety and mood disorders, chronic illness, and behavioural and other exceptionalities. I have been working as a teacher since 2018, and have been teaching and assisting in a special education school since 2020. I also just recieved my special education certificate from Queen's University and I am Level B certified. I currently teach Learning Assistance to kids with learning disabilities, ADHD, and ASD, focusing on reading, writing, and mathematics; I also have experience in all subjects from kindergarten to grade 10.

My references
Recommended by Maryam M.
Victoria has been a caregiver for our children since they were very little. We have been fortunate enough to have family in town to be with our kids should we want to go out or need to work and Victoria was the first, and only, person outside out family to watch our boys. She has always been kind, attentive, fun, playful and focused when she is with them. We trust her to take care of our kids during the day when they want to play and have fun as well as into the evening when they need to be put to bed. Victoria is always on time, reliable and understands the trust that parents enlist in her when she is responsible for their kids. Over the years my kids have built a relationship with Victoria that will continue as they grow up and the years to come. I always highly recommend her to my friends when they need a sitter.
