Hi everyone! My name is Maria Jose. I am a third year student at Simon Fraser University studying psychology and learning and developmental disabilities in education

I am currently a third-year psychology student with a minor in special education, nearing the completion of my studies. My educational background has equipped me with a foundational understanding of child development, learning, and developmental disabilities. I was able to work as Children Activity Leader in the Hospital del Niño [Children Hospital], where I was given the opportunity to interact with both children and parents by engaging into different activities based on the children's strengths and age range. This included finding the right materials for our weekly one-on-one interactions, as well as trying to make interactive tasks that would allow us to broaden their knowledge while establishing a stronger bond with them.
