Residential social care professional
Working as a member of a residential team to create a safe, caring environment for vulnerable children with complex needs.
• Developing appropriate professional relationships with children, parents and other professionals. Daily consulting and liasing with professionals to outline desired goals and guide all professionals with appropriate time frames to reach goals outlined
• Carrying out daily risk assessments, assisting with supervision of young people within the home including the planning, developing and participation of activities.
• Contributing and assisting with wellbeing programmes, providing emotional, personal, and social support of children and young people through promotion, provision, support and encouragement in a child-centred approach. Helping to create a stimulating and varied environment.
• As a key worker, contributing to the multidisciplinary assessments of each child. Contributing to team meetings, care planning meetings, child in care review meetings, Lac reviews, young person’s meetings, family/carer mediation as well as drawing up and evaluating plans such as key work plans and individual support plans for each young person.
• Contribution to daily logbooks, records, SEN’s, observations, assessments, and concerns. Ensuring to record all relevant information accurately.
• Overseeing all documentation, completing monthly supervision with staff memebers to outline specific tasks to be met.
• Overseeing petty cash and finance systems within the centre. Ensuring all budgeting requirements are met on a weekly basis by completing weekly calculations and submission of finances.
• Liasing with family memebers, and professionals to address issues of concern.
• As Tean Leader, delegating to all staff to complete daily tasks aswell as chairing mediation meetings to resolve issues.
• Chairing team meetings on a bi monthly basis and drawing up monthly planning for staff to adhere to.
• Complying with statutory requirements and adhering to all policies and procedures in place.
