I am a 30 year old, white, fit, female. I have 9 years of experience in developmental sciences. I began specializing in children infant-12 years old at the age of 18 through ErinOakKids. I work closely with PT OT Speech Therapist and medical professionals. I accompany clients to doctor and hospital visits and "speak doctor language" exceptionally well. I can navigate school systems and supports as well as I can navigate government funding and supports. I love learning and found it very challenging as a student myself, I am very acclimated to different learning styles and can adapt lesson plans and assignments accordingly. I have an extensive background in ADHD and autism and pride myself on my ability to be flexible with learning methods and believe teaching is based on student understand not on teacher knowledge.

I have both my DSW (Developmental Services Worker Diploma) and I have my Behavioral Sciences Degree. I was at Humber college location for both, though my degree was done through Guelph/Humber university program- just located at the Lakeshore Humber collage campus, as well. I was offered early acceptance to my master's in behavioural therapy through Humber/Brock university connected programs and was on track for my BCaBA exam 8 months prior to the pandemic. I choose to leave that in limbo when the pandemic took full impact on society and I moved to working in management and now produce gloves, masks and other first aid equipment at a plastics manufacturing warehouse; supplying for blue and red cross internationally. I love my current job: but I miss my clients and family social interactions daily. I believe the best way for me to continue doing what I'm doing for the pandemic (while still seeking access to my original career choice) would be to come on this site and find a family who could use my support, at a reduced cost, regardless of education. I just miss children and seniors and the elderly and I just find this kind of work brings me so much joy in a day... so I would like to put my toe back in at a leisurely rate as a tutor or after school tutor/nanny. I am qualified to tutor most subjects up to grade 6 level (math has since been updated and I follow the old school method for long division currently, so I would have to relearn the curriculum for long division in math specifically following the grade 6 level). I also tutor and social services and history up to highschool graduate level. I tutor English at the university undergraduate level. I supported my own education costs for 9 years, by tutoring my peers and classmates through both college and university in MLA, APA, essay and research report structures and critical review of journal articles including how to source and proper citations for scholarly articles required in research papers. I have worked as a teacher in substitute or as full time in seperate classrooms (students with disabilities or special needs accomodation) and I was also a professor at Sheridan Collage at both Brampton location, as well as square one campus location; working in the assessment and testing center as an accomodations specialist for students with specific requirements or accomodation needs. The kind of tutoring I offer includes at home therapies (sent from medical fields outside of school such as O.T or P.T) - Any students working with a BSP or FBA or other accomodation requirements outlined in their PSP PCP or ISP. I also work with students who have temporary physical impairments such as a broken arm or post surgery supports. I also have the capacity to assist and support any dietary requirements including tube feeding, thickening feeding, and the capacity to administer medication with the exception of intravenous without signed consent and at-home or in-home parent training. My hourly rate fluctuates based on needs. For typically learning individuals I charge normal hourly fees. For specialized supports or longer hours that include nanny responsibilities, I charge a reduced rate hours, and work together with families to find the best situation based on specific needs. I am also able to sign off on any government forms that require support worker signatures for funding. Including SSAH, Access, Passport, SSW or PSW funding, to name a few. Please TEXT your name and your needs to: and I will call you back from my work line at the earliest convenience. I do not often respond to emails directly on this site.
